1st trip as tag along with dad to wooley swamp was in 83' , killed first duck in 88' or 89' down in Louisianna.

Last duck hunt with Dad was in 08', its not quite the same without him.

Shot my first duck about '89 or '90.....got into it more serious when i got old enough to drive in '95

First duck hunt was in 1989...bought froze to death hunting with a buddy and his father. Didn't fire a shot, but it still grabbed me and hasn't let go.

Last weekend! Let me be the first to tell you....I'm a bonafide killing machine! Even got the stickers, dog, and calls to prove it!

First went in the mid 70s, shooting woodies in the Pearl river swamp off Elton Rd. There wasn't anything legal there we we doing. Fast forward to 1990 and I was hooked by the Ms delta and Blue Lake Brake. Let's just say I have been through a 12 step program for deer hunters in Greenwood and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Not to mention the friends I have made along the way.

I started when I was 9 when I killed my first duck, i'm 24 now. I would say we started really going alot when I was about 14 or 15.

started "sneakin" the fishpond levees as a kid in early 80's w/single shot .410, then graduated to a 20ga - coots, by the way....took a long hiatus and then got "hooked", against my wife's pleas and wishes, while sitting in the blind w/friends with one arm in a sling about 6 years ago (was out of commission from rotator cuff surgery).

1967 Sardis with 2 dozen Sears & Roebuck mail order Mallard decoys and box of shells all paid for with paper route earnings.

1974 - friend's Dad took us both in a 1971 International Scout. Everything was frozen. We broke ice - put out the dekes - and shot nothing. We were all frozen as Royal Red Ball (rubber waders), cotton coats and gloves did nothing to keep us warm. Can't believe I became "hooked" after that outing.

First duck hunt was in 1978 in the Pearl River swamp..Killed a gadwall with a single barrel 20ga...
Have not missed a season since......
My sons first hunt was last year and he got a smiling mallard......I hope he remembers his first like I do mine.....I hope we have many more together.....
