I do think State is gonna get investigated after that article and you better hope Melvin Smith didn't do anything wrong, cause with Saban involved NCAA won't show mercy.
Exactly...why all of a sudden is it such a big deal. The kid hadn't committed to anybody 'cept S. Panola until he said "I'm goin to MSU". Camlock and some other OM fans excluded, but there seems to be some OM fans crying just 'cause they aint getting the "top" recruits. Well, last I checked it was a split on the Dandy dozen players 5-5 so far. You don't hear us Dawgs cryin bout that. We should be, we've had the better season so far, you'd think more of those kids would want to come to the program "on the rise" but hey, like Camlock said, the kids are gonna go where they wanna go. All this other crap, the article and bichin bout recruits is just a bunch bammy and TSUN crybaby crap...IMHO.
The real problem is now that the West is really strong, there aint enuff talent to go round, so this recruiting deal is gonna get real ugly...that's the problem.

Fixed it for you. Btw 30 mins ago, a google search of "Brassell melvin smith" turned up only one hit that suggested any wrongdoing or NCAA investigation -- UM's Scout board. Forgive me for implying UM has anything to do with this.
And I did look at the Panolian, which implied no wrongdoing, that I could tell. Melvin Smith is the coach in charge of recruiting that area. I honestly thought you had heard/seen something I couldn't find.
From all accounts? What the accounts of State fans assuming Ole Miss fans started the rumor? Yeah it's on the Ole Miss boards cause they were in on recruiting the player(s), so what? It's called a rivalry for a reason! Flame away, of course only Ole Miss fans are guilty, just ask yourself!
Either way, I honestly personally don't care, I just have read it in other places as well and wanted to comment...i can do that objectively as an Ole miss fan, despite what you may think...

of course only Ole Miss fans are guilty,
No, but they do take it to another degree. Jackie Sherrill has proof. I guess that's why I have a bit of a hair trigger with these types of allegations.

Man, if we knew all the truth in these things, every single schools could be blamed...college football and recruiting is a big money business and everybody is cut throat...Saban is just king ding-a-ling and now being the head coach at the SEC's prodigal son, it's only amplified!

I know him, very well...I believe
He's never came across me as much of an Ole Miss fan...he's a Baton Rouge boy that went to school at Ole Miss...quite a few of them around here.

Give you this, he talks more on that thread like an Ole Miss guy than he ever has in person!
Assuming that is who I think it is...I could be wrong

Problem with all of this is that NO SEC SCHOOL can go to the NCAA. Slive got sick of the crap Auburn was trying to do to Bama and what OM was trying to do (actually did with State) so he pledged that any complaints WILL go through B'ham first. He will then decide which is legit and what is not. Remember when he pledged that no more SEC schools would go on probation when he go here?!?!
Besides, if people are honest and stop to think about it.....why would Saban care about a 3 star WR when he has 4 & 5 star WR's he is recruiting more heavily?

SURE...Saban can't get the message through without going to Slive and all the boosters go through the universities office of compliance, no doubt about it...
Rumor is that he cares b/c he is #1 on his recruiting board...AND coaches could care less how many stars ESPN, Rivals, or Scout gives a recruit...also he is a 4 star on Rivals if you care about stars, not sure about Scout, i know he's 3 star on ESPN.

that article submitted by the Panolian with the quotes from Market and Brassell is kinda damning though...I would expect the NCAA to come a sniffin...
Camlock I don't think you meant it this way, but it typically rubs rival fans the wrong way when your first post about the topic says "kinda damning". Trust me I recognize that it goes both ways....when UM is on the hot seat us State guys lean towards "kinda damning" first and have to be pulled back to center with facts that support innocence. Plus anyone that follows MS football knows that the UM boards blew up when news of these commits hit. Thats why its a MSU-UM issue.
