(1) Unless a different or other penalty or punishment is specially prescribed, a person who violates any of the provisions of this chapter or any law or regulation for the protection of wild animals, birds, or fish, or who fails to perform any duty imposed by such laws or regulations, or who violates or fails to comply with any lawful order, rule or regulation adopted by the commission is guilty of a Class III violation and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not less than Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) nor more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00). In addition thereto, such person is liable, in the discretion of the court, to an additional penalty of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) for each animal, bird, or fish, or part thereof, or each nest or egg of any bird taken, possessed, or transported in violation of such law or regulation.
Chapter 49 covers the game and fish laws for the state of Mississippi
Does not say you can charge a person for each shell.........this is state law....the federal law may be different. But under state it is a class III violation with a 25-100 dollar fine
OK, So 100.00 plus another 25.00 per bird. that works out to 250 if you get your limit. Looks like I lost a 1/5 of four roses... Oh well....
Nosir you are forgetting about all the taxes that go with these fines and court cost. Be more like 500 or better. The taxes and court cost will be more than the fine. Plus if it was a fed the min would be 250 for toxic shot plus all the other. I believe the feds do charge per shell too! Not sure there last time I had dealings with em lead was legal!

Most class three violations get stuck with the 25.00 fine plus court costs comes out to around 116.00..........there is no tax involved in a ticket, you are buying goods or services

Memphis and some places in Arkansas are the only options now.

After talking to our local JP this would be a class 3 violation. This carries a fine of 25 to 100 bucks plus court cost and that can vary from county to county. So roughly from 160 to around 180 or 90 bucks. If that is the only violation the officer will usually send it to county court. However at the wardens discretion he can bump any migratory waterfowl charge to Fed court. Usually as Rob said earlier there is more than one charge. This can take on a whole new meaning as far as the fines go. So Doc, most likely as you described the event the fine would be less than 200 bucks even if he maxed out on the fine.

I am pretty sure thay would stick you with the $100 then they pour on the additional $25 per duck it is up to the warden but I would bet most would go ahead and give you the extra since you would be in a very douchelike situation.

Its legal on lands not federally owned! On Federal refuges you must use non-toxic even for them

Better start saving up for my bail fund.
116 a day isn't that bad compared to a guided hunt.
