Nice resource for pond maint once its up and going. I have a well that fills my swimby and overflows into the main pond. It pumps 90 gals a minute and if left on over night will raise the main pond about an inch. I have looked at an aeration system but havent made a move yet. The well keeps everything in balence so far, but have to run it a couple of times a week in the summer. I would look at having a holding pond of some sort that you can move water from during dry periods. Mine is my swimby. If I keep it full, turn the well on and within a couple of hours the surface temp has dropped and you can get a lot of drill work done in the heat and the dogs love it.

Thanks Charles. I am very familiar with pond boss and the owner/editor Mr. Bob Lusk has been on my old property when we were starting the 55 acre lake in my old subdivision. Great source, and excellent magazine.

I haven't searched yet, but was told they make an electric paddle wheel type aerators/water movers. I'm going to look into that, as well as some different type electric pumps. Timers would be nice.....

Help DIB design his tech pond "get together"........This Friday, after work. BYOB. Tail gating bullshat it's finest. Chief Engineer Chopper will be on hand (I hope), and I would appreciate some input. If you design a special feature that we use on the pond, it will be named in your behalf......Bring the dog.......and YOUR OWN FREAKIN' BEER!! I got plenty of pretty little orange flags! Water level lines are marked, it's now time to do some tweaking! And get rid of the dang trees........bring chainsaw....lol.....just kidding.

484 Stokes Rd., Flora

463 to 22, go west towards Flora, right on Livingston Vernon, quick right on Stokes, about 2 or 3 miles on the left.

Actually, I'm pretty good on one destroying shat, like pine trees.........Never moved dirt with one however......but I can do some serious slicking up with a box blade and tractor........I think I might stay off the heavy equipment......way to many buttons and levers that interfere with beer drankin'.........

You live close to Canton...dont they have those paddlewheel aerators in the lagoon north of town right off the interstate...maybe you could borrow one???

Didn't they used to have a rest area right there...never could understand why anyone would want to pull off and picnic there...of course most people probably didn't realize it wasn't just a really big catfish pond...

How about a swimby pond connected by a small channel?

Good thinkin' on the swim by pond.........actually, that's it in the bottom right corner. Point just didn't come out far enough to make it look right.

Anyone want to tweak my preliminary design.....all suggestions will be appreciated. Come on gator, I know you want to draw all over that thing........

IMHO, for the acreage you're talking, it's too busy.

just my opinion, gator

To busy to build, or to train on? What would you change? Keep in mind, this will also be a stocked fishing pond.

I cant see the drawing but I agree with Gator. You would be suprised how much good stuff you can get from just a big rectangle pond, diamond shaped, or one or two of each staggered. Add an island and a point or two.
