i just purchased an individual policy from golden rule insurance and went to get my prescriptions and found out they were not covered. called the company and if you purchase a individual policy, then any meds you were taking or any pre-existing condition is not covered for 12 months even if you disclosed it. i wish i would have known that on front end b/c would have just added on to my wife's insurance, which i will be doing anyway. just keep that in mind when looking at individual policies.

That explanation would be in your limitations and exclusions... Your agent should have disclosed this information to you before you purchased the policy or did the application... I'm assuming you didn't read the limitations and exclusions before you purchased the policy... Just about all individual if not all individual policies excludes pre existing conditions for 12 months... Some group policies are the same way... Depends on the group plan!

yep, you would have thought the agent would have told me that or just given me the limitations to read. luckily, i can just attach to my wife's plan
