naw, i'm actually waiting on hearing from a prominent decoy carver...and will kinda move down the line until they can't say know.....

trust me, i'm trying to figure out how to do this and still keep cost down.....i bought a slap of basswood today for 50 bucks.....i'll get maybe 6-7 heads out of it...supposedly got some white cedar headed this way (another 150)....YALL'S president and all :lol:

Are you thinking along the lines of everyone starting out with the "Package 1 Beginning Carvers Kit" as listed in the DuckBlind catalog or something more advanced? I was thinking of buying that Kit to get started but will wait if you had something else in mind?

novocaine, that's most likely what we'd do so far as the package, but i may get willey to cut out something different than a Can although i love carving/painting them.....i'm thinking possibly a scaup, as they allow for combing in vermiculation, texturing heads, several color areas you don't "see" until you start looking, and dry brushing techniques.

again, this is just something i'm kicking around......but, you get the general idea.
