I shoot my limit of DUCKS in the A.M., then

Calm down Bluesky. We ain't talking about the eggbowl here. No one said it ain't about being outdoors, communing with nature. All that is a big part of it. But I am not ashamed to say I still like to smokeball ducks. And that is part of it, too.

I have shot out many a hole by being ignorant, but I don't have that excuse any more. Ease off in the afternoons, and let the ducks eat.

There is a lot of knowledge on this board. You may not agree with all of the opinions expessed, Lord knows I don't. But just because someone disagrees with you does not make them "ignorant chumps." Geez.

Awe bluesky, whutzamatter???? Man go take a poop and lighten up.
I always love it when a self appointed intellectual trys to put on the dog. When all else fails, he runs to the 'you guys have reduced it to just killing' defense. That's always a safe defense, bet you like the 'any tidy more than a mouthful is a waste' arguement too... Well bubba, Im outdoors everyday. I go duck hunting cause I like to kill ducks. I have managed to become fair at it to. We got rules like no shooting into groups of more than 100. We got rules like a cripple is part of yo limit, so you shoot, you better be ready to walk after a sailer. We provide rest areas, roosting our own birds. We keep and feed birds, all season. I get off on big groups of birds, even more than killing them. So is it all about killing? Naw. But I like the waste that comes with more than a mouthful, and Im willing to work for it, and not ashamed of it a bit. I work hard to do it right, and aint about to blow it for not thinking something through. I don't have to kill ducks am and pm, do it right and your napping in the pm. Your right feller, I don't know you, nor do I care too. Plenty of folks out there who aint a pain in the butt to spend time with. Have a good day. travis

Here is a question. What about the occasional WEEKDAY afternoon hunt? Would that directly affect the quailty of WEEKEND morning hunts?

We never got off on a wrong foot, we just saw something differently. Folks that think are at times going to differ opinions. Personally I love to argue the points of something, its when you got folks that when all else fails, they decide to attack the person, not the ideals. I can do it as good as anyone, I just don't do it first. I might aruge with you on any given subject, but I'll argue our opinions, not our persons. I do like to rile the uptight though.

Ducks attract ducks. So if you got 20 ducks one day, you're likely to have 40 tommorrow, and a 100 the next. If you shoot your field on tuesday pm, you just as likely to push those 40 onto someone elses field, and then on wednesday they got their 100, and yours. If you where gonna do it, yeah, you'd be better to rest it as long as you could, but you'd still be better off to not. Holding ducks is like a kid having a fish tank. Best to set it all up right the first time, and then keep yur grubby hands out of it.
Not to mention afternoon field hunting sucks, cause the majortiy of the time you arrive to run ducks off, then watch them pile in 5 minutes after legal. I like the anticpaition of those wings in the dark BEFORE a hunt, then a hunt, then leaving. Getting excited, then slow, then more exciting, then frustrated when they pile in after you can't shoot, then you still run them off trying to get out....Then you got to get up and go to work the next day...Naw, work like hell late, and blow work off the next morning, pick up some ducks and then go in to work late! hehe. More fun and productive that way. travis

You afternoon woody shooters need to remember a watch....real easy to do the wrong thing, even if on accident. I got a gps I never even figured out how to work, but one thing it does do, is tell you EXCATLY sunset time for where your sitting. Real nice on a afternoon shoot. travis
