Sometimes when it's slow I love to eat anything. Prefer Teal, like to size of Mallards but would have to say you get a whole bunch of meat from a Canada if you can cook it right.

The mallard is our bread & butter.
But I long for a sprig in Scott Co.

I'm equally torn between drake mallards and any fighter squadren of teal. We harldy get the chance to kill pins since we hunt flooded timber, but just see one of those is a treat.

well growin' up in S. Louisiana my favorite duck to eat and shoot ever since I was bout six or so was a gray duck. They aint the prettiest and they aint the hardest to work but boy they sure are fun. Work well, decoy well and make decent table fare what more can you ask for? I like to shoot mallards and pintails and all of them but that's my favorite duck. However favorite of all aint a duck, it would be a speckelbelly workin' the dekes.

My favorite has to be Mallards, then Pintails. But I kill way more gadwalls than anything else!

Hope for mallards, watch for teal, usually settle for gadwalls.

My favorite, just for the challenge is a true black duck (not a mottled duck that some nut gets mounted and calls a black), and next wood ducks, just cause I like the little guys, and they are tasty. Then mallards and teal.
