Well those geese are fast learners. I got a call this morning saying there were more geese. When I got there I counted 15. As soon as I stepped into view they were in the air and I wasn't close enough to get a good shot. Yesterday I walked into range. Today they didn't allow that. Now if they come back I have me a sporting challenge.

Well...

I had been watching them for a few days. Counted 45 or so last night. They left for the roost. We set up this morning in some shallow water with 2 dozen silloutes (yeah, i can't spell) and a few floaters. They came on a string and with some good calling (not mine, that's for sure) we got them CLOSE, maybe 15 yards or something. It was fast shooting and the 3 of us shot our 15 honkers in short order. They came in groups of 6 to 10 spaced pretty closely. I doubt I will be able to do that to them again  .

The first group that came was 6 birds. We shot 5 of them and the lone survivor came back to the call and decoys and didn't leave. I had heard of that happening but hadn't seen it before. We were blessed with a great day.

FYI we saw 3 small groups of teal. I hope its a sign of good things to come.

Thanks for asking...

Well I went back out this afternoon and bagged 3 more. :D I hit a couple more but they didn't fall. (blasted steel shot :x ) That brings my total to 8 so far. They aren't as thick here as they are up North but we'll take all we can get. :D

While I didn't have as good a hunt as ringbill I did take a few pics of the hunts last week that I mentioned earlier in the thread including the day I got no goose but some pretty decent bass.

Hope to get a few more before the season closes Monday. Good luck to everyone on the teal opener tomorrow.
