The entire seam in the crotch has begun to leak. I tried repeatedly to contact Mack's and never received a call back. That will be the last Mack's labled product that I purchase.
I have recommended them on this site before, but I rescend that recommendation. I have not put them through anything extraordinary and have taken great care of them in the off season.
If you are looking for something lightweight perhaps try the alpha swampfox from Lacrosse.
I have looked at the alpha swampfox waders and they are nice and light but I was thinking they may not be enough to keep me warm on those cool days. I am going to keep them in mind and have not ruled them out yet.
Just layer up...get a good pair of wading fleece pants. I flyfish in breathable waders that have no insulation in 15 degree weather and never get cold. It is all about layering properly.
Re: Mack's Big Ditch Wader??????
I bought the Big Ditch waders just before Christmas and like them so far. The 1000 gram thinsulate is not quite as warm as the 1200 gram that I had on my last set (Mack's Grand Prairie) but it's fine for all but the coldest days, when 2 pairs of socks are needed! The 3.5 millimeter neoprene is much more comfortable than 5 millimeter. So far, so good - but we'll see if they make it through next season before giving a final judgment.
