Glad you went to state. I got my degree at Ole Miss and it worked out fine for me as well as everybody I graduated with. You have been led to believe that the Ole Miss engineering school is inferior to all engineering schools.

That is a thing of the past and I know of tons of big wig bosses that are ole miss alumni. Personally I would prefer ole miss over state because of the small classes and good relationship with the professors. Just my 0.02...

Congrats on the job....

The real test of an engineering school is whether or not Exxon or Chevron recruit there. Do Exxon and/or Chevron recruit Ole Miss?

I agree that once you get "in the door" where you went to school doesn't mean *!@#@*. I like my chances of "getting in the door" better at State. That's just me. Matter of fact it got me "in the door".

Well of course they recruit at ole miss I know a bunch of people that work for exxon and chevron that have graduated in the past 5 years. Guys from exxon come for like a week and interview everbody and pick the engineers they want.

I haven't been led to believe anything about Ole Miss. As a matter of fact I hope you folks get jobs. I think the bottom line is the lack of co-op experience has kept this kid from getting a job. Simple as that. It used to be that you had to co-op to get a high paying job. Now you have to co-op to get a job period. If you got a job and didn't co-op...congrats....you're the 0.1%.

And Chevron does not recruit Ole Miss....but they recruit State :D :D :D
