here ya go guys.... 2007-2008 hunting season I killed the largest buck of my life. He sported 11 pts total including a split brow tine, 18 inches wide and a lot of mass. This deer was the largest deer taken off of the property to date. He wasnt record book material, but for me on this land it was special. Well I gutted the deer and took it to the local meat processor to get some hamburger and get him caped out for a mount. I got the call that the meat was ready and went on down to get him. when I gave them my name they gave me a large box of meat. NO CAPE, NO HEAD, NO HORNS!!! I told them there must be a mistake because I was missing my cape. They said sorry that wasnt on the ticket! I raised hell, but it didnt get me anywhere!

Why did you not take the head part of the neck and the cape with you when you dropped off the rest for processing? I aint never left what I want mounted with a meat packer just to much that can go wrong.

That is always the way I have done it. It gives me a week to find a taxidermist that will take him. I dont have a freezer with that amount of extra room to put a whole deer head and antlers in, and if I did my wife would be like WTF is that next to the okra.

i thought you took it to the taxidermist and he screwed up your order.

Dude your screwed since you took it to the meat processor and left your deer with him. You will not have any legal course since really all he is responsible for is the meat and depending on they way they process the meat, it might not even be the deer you killed. Hell you can spend 5000.00 on a hunt but you cant go buy a 350.00 dollar freezer, wtf.

Use your brain and read!! two different stories dude. My deer was a MS deer killed on private land and not the one that cost 5000 bones. I was not asking for legal advice... all I was saying is that it sucks. Also, If they can charge 35 dollars for a cape they would be responsible to not loose it.
