I'm just not good 'club' material. There are benefits to having a place to hunt, that you have a little control over.......but only when the ducks are using it........then everybody wants to show-up at the same time. There's nothing like sitting in a $5,000 hole in the ground looking-up at blank skies, wishing one lost duck would carelessly fly over your airspace......just to experience the thrill of sighting a target, even if it never comes in range.

'Lotta folks are just content to have a place to go. Others dwell on giving the appearence of having some place to go......even if it sucks. Just the mention of 'the club', or 'the lease' suggests exclusivity and commradery......but no real garauntee of either. Some folks just strive to 'look busy'.......they get where they are going, make the grand entry......then they are bored and start calling around to see who is somewhere else they'd rather be........then they jump in the truck and head to their next date with disappointment.

So, I'll remain mobile (as long as I am physically able) and go 'to' the ducks, wherever I happen to find some in the context of solitude.

I chase my ducks the old fashion public way. I enjoy the feeling of a well scouted hole along with a successful hunt. Great pride in that.

That being said, if I had the money to hunt in a club, I would probably do it. Guaranteed spot every morning.

Member of a club, but I disagree with the comments that sound like those of us that are in clubs don't really "hunt" ducks. I put a lot of time in during the season and before to make sure that we do all we can to ensure ducks. And if the conditions are not right for our land we hunt public water on the lakes or the big river.

I do enjoy the time spent at the camp. We have a great group of guys and I love the time spent around the fire pit and the grill telling stories and hanging out.

Classic...
I will try to remember that since I have a few (holes in the ground) and some nice timber, that I have to stay there. Thats a bunch of bs. You can bet that if I don't have ducks on property I am going to find them. I love it when people are pissed off cause they don't have a consistent place to kill ducks without having to deal with a public crowd. Oh I can go a head and tell you that you probablly don't spend more money a year than what it takes to have a private place to consistently kill ducks, if you did you would be hunting private.
