I have a hard time getting the wife to cook deer much less duck. Since I believe you should eat what you kill I do more deer hunting than duck hunting now

Man that's easy, you cook it for her. It's a win win, you get to eat duck, and she gets a night off from cookin'.

I spoke to a goose hunter yesterday that I checked in the field last season. His group had several specks but very few snows on that hunt. I told him I thought they had a pretty good hunt but he said the specks weren't what they were after. I told him turning down specks for snows was like turning down t-bone for balogna.

Specks are filet on the wing.

Beastmaster is right...he can cook 'em (snow geese) and make you look silly talking about, "Man this is the best duck I've had in a while". YOU HAVE TO SOAK 'EM!!!! But they can be good. You can get an ocassional "extra gamey" duck and a more than occasional gamey goose, but they can be good.

i have had some of the best eats at duckdoctor1970's place eating duck off the grill soaked in a little hoovers ...........suprised he has not jumped in on this

I eat every duck I kill. I eat every goose also. I een eat every snow.

Eating them is the reason I hunt them. I love some duck and goose, especially with the Hoover sauce.

I agree with everyone...eat what you kill. I enjoy cooking ducks in various ways and the occasional goose. I have never been able to make a snow fit to eat and have tried a few different things. Beastie I wish you would post up some detail as to how to prepare a snow so I'm not the only one in the house brave enough to eat it.
