Bear Whitetail II hands down. It may sound like a 22 going off but its killed a ton of deer.

I like the bowtech myself. As far as a good bow i would shoot either a bowtech or a hoyt. I am by far a hoyt groupie, but the last 5 years have been great for hoyt w/ the bows they've been producing. Like everybody else says, find what you want for what you can afford. Not what is popular.

+ 1 and ready to get reemed by the bowtech, hoyt groupies....

Seriously guys...you know AR isn't making bows anymore, right? Pete Shepley (of PSE) pulled the plug indefinitely....so there should be some good deals out there.....
You are running short on time, so I'd say, shoot a mathews, hoyt, bowtech and PSE as soon as possible...yes there are other nice bows out there but if you can't find something from one of those that flips up your skirt you probably can't be satisfied.....
and if you go to Archery Talk don't drink the kool-aid...remember the forum is run by a manufacturer and is focused on shooters more than hunters...but if you can wade through it and use a bit of common sense there is some good info to be found once you figure out who has/doesn't have an agenda....

GG, beat me too it. AR is no longer. So do what they all have said and go shoot them all.
I went through this same thing about 2 months ago. Everyone has there own personal pref or just swear by what they own even if they know its not as good as some.
I don't like the hoyt bows that much. I shot the new one's and they just weren't for me. Heavy and and some vibration. Just didnt feel good in my hand. The Mathews Dxt is what you'd expect. Light, quiet and smooth. The S2 is just a bigger switchback xt and shoots about the same. The bowtech general was the smoothest shooting bow i put my hands on. Had no i mean no vibration and is plenty fast. The new pse's are good they make a super short which has only a 26inch axle to axle and shots well over 300 if set up right or the dream season which is just its bigger brother. The truth 2 is a good bow for the price, just not as quality as the big boys. Go shoot em and buy the one that feels the best in your hands.

Another one to shoot is the PSE X-Force. It's crazy fast (around 350fps IBO)and suprisingly quiet.

Don't buy anything until you shoot a Bowtech! I love my Tribute, it's plenty fast and quiet as a mouse fart.

bowtech man here myself. shoot the tribute and like it but it is not as smooth of a draw as matthews. the dxt and drenalin are pretty slick bows if i say so myself. that being said its the indian and not the arrow!!!

i will say this I've never seen anyone shoot a hoyt, bowtech, and matthews(all in the same price range) and leave with a matthews.. No disrespect meant, just what i've seen.

all right fellows thanks for all the help!
went with the AR32 yesterday and got it completely rigged out with half a dozen arrows for lil over 8. i shot the diamond black ice, bowtech alliance i think, and some bear bow, the AR by far the smoothest and quietest out of all. if yall are lookin for a good deal on an AR my man's got only two left. he had to order mine(left handed) and the dealer found one in my draw length. the bowtech was as rough a shooting bow as my old pse, but it wasnt the general.
thanks

Fair warning unless you are ready to buy the new Bowtech General
DO NOT GO SHOOT IT!!!! This thing is unbelievable. Dad just purchased one and he hasn't really bow hunted in 5 years

.... saw a guy walk in discount hunting and fishing a month ago and pick it up and shoot it after just buying the new Matthews 3 weeks before and he bought it

.... had 3 of my friends (Die hard Matthews boys) switch to it this year

and I almost did but my Bowtech Allegiance shoots just too good
