Fine, I'll give you that you can tell between Mallard breasts and Gadwall breasts. Now, you got 4 pairs of Mallard breasts. Now tell me, how can you identify the sex?
Look, transporting is not that hard. Gut the bird, that takes 2 minutes. cut off the wings and pluck too. Just leave the head and put a condom over it or something like that if your scared it will mess up your meat.
But you know, old timers would hang their birds by the feet and not clean them until they fell off. Now if its cold and not gut shot, I can see that, but not if its like some of these pasts warm winters we have had.

Ok, I've got 4 pairs of mallard breasts to indentify, easy. They are all drakes cuz I don't shoot hens.
But the drakes tend to have a darker color and rougher texture to the meat than the hens, IMO.

Man this post has gone off the deep end. You have a person that can tell you what a chunk of meat was after you clean it. You have a guy that shoots two limits a day because he is allowed to have that many. GH22 my friend you have really shown your lack of maturity.
The bottom line is one and one only. You must have no more than two limits in your possession at any one time and they must be identifiable. (period)
Now the law does state that you can travel from one place to another with meat that has been processed. Go figure

Duckmen, go back and look at your post on the teal topic. You said sunday that you had hunted 5 days and killed 5 limits, hope that was a typo since the season just started Sept. 8th, hope my bad influences haven't rubbed off on you.

Application is denied, I'm pretty selfish when it comes to ducks and prefer to hunt by myself, save more shells that way.

GH22 I used to hunt in Venice, LA and was checked a many a times by the FEDS. They were always looking for a wing or a head to indentify the duck! If I was you I would shut your trap about your hunts and what you bagged. Your IP address is logged and they can track your but down. Belive you me those FEDS will find your young butt and shut you down and make an example of you and your State Wardens! Beware!!!!!!!!!

GH22, You must have a complete wing left attached to a duck when transporting that duck back to your residence. If you shoot ducks in Ms and travel back home in NC then you must leave the wing. You can only bring back your Poss. limit which is 12. Duck breast are only legal when you are cooking them.I have been a game warden for 25 years and will give anyone a ticket for transporting duck breast. Good luck this season and am glad you all are getting some water early this year.Later Baldpate

Now GH22 you just never seem to amaze me my friend, You think I killed 5 limits all in two days. Did I not say 5 limits in 5 days?
If the season has only been open for two days how is that possible????
Did you ever stop to think that maybe Ole Duckmen has friends in Akron that he might have gone hunting with on the 5th, 6th, 7th of Sept.
I will tell you this GH22 I do not break the law in anyway unless it was an accident and I sure as hell don't shoot two limits a day.
Tell you what you need to do this duck season.
You need to bring your happy ass down here and hunt with me this season so I can make a man out of you.
Now I know what your thinking boy, you are still confused about how I hunted in Akron when the season wasn't open. And the reason I know what you’re thinking is because your a kid and live in a limited environment. Meaning there are other cities that have the name Akron. Look North – no – no -- no farther north. Now you get the picture ....
Boy I love messing with you. hehe

GH22,
Just my personal opinion or words of advice, but I would stop bragging over the internet. Knowing that you got warned by a warden over a point in which you were wrong(although it may have been by mistake), please don't get him after you on something else. The point is not if you can or cannot identify a duck breast(that isn't the issue). The issue is if you are disregarding the law by transporting a duck without proof of identification. The law is for dumb folks like me who can't tell the difference between two duck breasts.

Duckmen, next time be more specific about killing the ducks in another state to help out bad thought young people like myself
I figured that it was a typo, but you did say that you had gotten them in NE Mississippi.
As for bragging, I haven't done it. I killed two limits in one day last year, for which I have apologized, and the rest of the season I killed one limit each day. Give me a freakin' break. As for transporting ducks with indentification, I have never seen that before cuz I didn't know about. We have had out-of-staters to come hunt with us, debreast or pluck their ducks without a wing attached, and gone back home. I know of 5 duck hunting clubs in my area, and I have been there when they were packaging up their ducks, and there were no wings or heads attached, so I've never done it.

No, I'm not taking it off. I don't want anyone to stand up for me about what I have been doing wrong, I can take care of my own self. Ya'll just go and do what you want to do, and I'll do the same, and we will all be happy. Enough of this sh*t.

we had a fed come to our camp last year. we had a bunch of frozen ducks in the freezer. several of us were still out hunting. he counted the ducks, then counted the people. there were not enough people in the house to cover the ducks. he drove to the blind where we were and made sure there were additional people to cover the ducks. those suckers were hard as a rock and been frozen for weeks. he said it didn't matter, a posession limit is a posession limit. he said if it was at home it was a different story, I didn't understand that. He checked car's, trucks, the house everything.
GH22: If i was you, i wouldn't even post what section of the state you hunt in.
some of the guy's are gung ho to get someone. that guy that checked us knew damn well the ducks had been killed weeks before, he was just looking for anything.
