The farther south you go in the flyway, the less effective they are, but the hens and young of the year are them most vunerable to them and never get the chance to imprint on the southern areas if they are dead. They also stress the birds more, IMO, and make them harder to decoy and have the quality hunting we were used to. Again, they are just a gimmick to circumvent the MBTA laws enacted by people that had more common sense than the current law-makers. We are loosing a lot of chances at the juveniles that never make it here and our band returns since their inception show a great disparity in adults over juveniles. Prior to that it was at least 50/50 and higher toward the juveniles and I've killed a lot of banded birds, just ask RR!
