to do it but it is not against the law. Its not against State law anyway not sure about federal law.
Why is it not wise to do? There is nothing illegal about it and I find it crazy people advise against it for whatever reasons? I would much rather have it on me for that one in a million chance a sociopath comes in to rob it while i'm getting a dumdum with no intentions of leaving witnesses. Nope, thanks though I'll have my glock. I carry because I cannot have a police officer on my hip 24/7.

I would say if you do not know how to act while carrying a firearm, well you are a danger to us all and should have that gun and all sharp/blunt objects taken away including tire irons, butter knives, nails, bats, forks, sporks, golf clubs, tennis rackets, rocks, thick paper/cardboard, and pizza cutters..

Dude walks into a bank. On his person is a ccw and a firearm. Said dude starts raising all kinds of hell cause the bank won't do something for him that the bank is not supposed to do. Someone hits the button on him/calls police and says this dude is disturbing the peace and we think he is armed.
This may be a question for a lawyer but... What happens next?
What happens next? Dude gets arrested for disturbing the peace. HOWEVER. Due to the fact that this dude has his CCP, he is already very aware that the police will assume that he is armed because the bank employees said "we think he is armed." And since he doesn't want to use his gun against police, and he does not want to be shot himself, he will stop disturbing the peace immediately, if not sooner.

I think the portion of whether or not in a holster is concealed is kinda a gray area. From the websites I've been reading on, MS appears to allow it but then doesn't necessarily want open carry by the way its worded in the permit laws.
Bottom line is to get the permit to be legal, and carry it if you want to. Use good judgement where to carry it and where not to. Read the laws as stated on the MHP website and use common sense. If someone doesn't have enough common sense to determine whether or not it should be worn to a place in question, that someone probably doesn't need to be carrying to start with.
For example...
If you look like a thug...dont go wearing a pistol on your hip into Amsouth, legal or not.
If you going to act a fool somewhere, better to not be armed while doing it.
If you gonna be drunk, leave the weapon at the house!
Don't go into the convenience store and caress your weapon while waiting in line.
Don't readjust it in a cheap uncomfortable holster 10 times every 5 seconds so you lookin might suspicious..and looney!
Trying to be funny here....but common sense does go a long way.

The most important word in all of this is "concealed." You can put a pistol on your hip and ride your horse down the streetwalk and you are legal b/c it is not concealed. You may be asked to leave private businesses and such, but you are legal. I have a permitt, but in most cases you don't need one unless you have it where nobody can see it.

What they were referring to is there has always been a large Gray area as of the true definition of the word concealed. I too remember when carrying in a holster was thought of as concealed by some police agencies and judges because the part inside the holster and trigger strap concealed part of the gun.

Explain please? Are you saying you have to have a part of your handgun showing? Let me reiterate this, CONCEALED MEANS CONCEALED not being a douche canoe and flashing it so people know you are armed. This does not mean you have a handgun hidden but a magazine on your opposite hip..don't wear the shoot-me-first vest that all too many photographers and asian freaking tourist wear. Why not get a good holster, good belt, and good cover garment and go about your business not worrying about what wally world or mcdonalds employee you scare? If you are carrying CONCEALED and somehow it is seen, you know a shirt rides up kid pulls your shirt up, then they are welcome to ask you to leave politely, "The Man" is welcome to check out what you are carrying, your permit, etc and they are able to ask you to leave as to not cause a disturbance but UNLESS there is a readable sign at every entrance to the place saying firearms are prohibited or you are in a federal building, school, church, or other prohibited areas as outlined by state law you have done nothing wrong and they can threaten, do whatever but you will be in a good position to defend your case. I am no lawyer, cop, priest, banker, teacher, or presidential nominee but I do know that the laws are written out on paper for all to see and unless they are on the paper they are not necessarily correct. I have been told you can't have a pistol in a truck owned/driven by a person under 21, check the laws it reads as long as you are over 18 you can have a firearm concealed in whole or part anywhere in the vehicle, your home, or private business.
Anyways take that for what it's worth and this was not a personal attack just a rant!

I don't know, You may find yourself on the receiving end of a police bullet if you pull your concealed weapon to try to stop a bank robbery that you happened to walk in on. How are the police going to know that you're not involved with the robbery? Aren't the police generally very overzealous when dealing with brandished weapons during a bank robbery?

I don't think the cops are that quick anywhere in the world. If an off duty policemen happens to be in there, he will probably witness the same thing you have and act in much the same manner. He might not, but I would rather take my chance with a law enforcement officer's ability to dissect the situation than count on some crack head just deciding to start spraying the place.
If someone carries into a bank and "robbery" occurs. You can bet that if you decide to defend yourself and other innocent bystanders, it will all go down in milliseconds before the first uh-ruh in dispatch can pry the chicken leg from her fingers and report the alarm to the rest of the uh-ruhs that are going to be coming.
There is an unbelievable responsiblity that comes with the decision to carry. It demands that your control yourself and AVOID any situation that might escalate into an altercation. It is not a license to be a bully, vigilante, or superhero. It gives you a right to defend your life and the life of others. At that point in time, God forbid it should ever come up, you will never think about legalities. You might think briefly about your family who you may not see again. When you decide that weapon is going to be pulled, the next thing that should happen is the hammer falling.
my worthless opinion.... Tombstone

I have been thinking of getting a permit and I asked an older man at the church his opinion. He said he has had since it was necessary for him to have one. he was a pharmicist a long time ago and he said he has never not one day since graduating somewhere in the 40's or so been to work with out a gun. The only advice he gavee was this. "If you pull your gun pull the trigger." He said that he has only pulled it twice one died and the other he shot in the hand. he said one that died had a gun and the other had a knife.

No thanks..I will continue carrying my firearm concealed and you all will continue NOT getting calls about me. I wish I knew how many times I have been in wal mart and walked past a cop and he never suspected a thing which is exactly how its supposed to be.
Great post tombstone!

I still can't figure out why everyone is so set on carrying a pistola. I have one in my truck and all over my house. Why do I need one on my side? I guess I tend not to go down dark alleys at night....and thru the hood.
