There is a commercial marine company (I forget the name of the place) in downtown Memfrica that sells the 2-part marine grade "pour foam" It is kinda expensive but it is the best and you only have to do it once. One tablespoon of each will almost fill up a gallon milk jug. It is most commonaly use in floation for dredges and docks off of Presidents Island.
Conservation is number one to all true outdoorsmen

Postby walt333ms » Tue Feb 04, 2003 3:17 pm

Have built floating blind from pontoon boat...1984....know that is before some of you guys were placed on this earth....

But designed and built 4 floating blinds in the past few years that i like much better.....

1...very light weight..+- 200 lbs....
2...floats in 4-5 inches of water.....
3...easy to trailer...
4...easy to camo...
5...shoots 3-...
6...light enouth to place in dove field...shade for dog...kids...
7...fits on boat trailer...or 12 foot 4-wheeler trailer...
8...light enough to trailer on public land (bean or open)...slide off
and pull with 4-wheeler or move with boat..

Had one on the bank at my place north of manahanna the last weekend...
Sam (dog) and I slid it in the water...moved it across the lake..thru out a few decoys....killed a few ducks....took it back to the bank...Sunday...pulled it with 4-wheeler to high ground...5..min max...

Dont know how to put a pic on here....send me a pm and I will be glad to send pics...and how to build....

I'VE BUILT THEM BEFORE , WITH DRUMS AND STYROFOAM, THE STYRO WAS INCASED IN SHEETMETAL, SO IT WOULDNT GET CHEWED ON BY THE CRITTERS.

TUNICA- LET ME KNOW

I DID SEE THE BLUE PRINTS FROM WILDLIFE PROPERTIES, TOO BIG.

WE HAVE THE BLINDS ALREADY OUT IN THE FIELD, THEY ARE ABOUT
5X12 AND 48 HIGH IN THE FRONT AND 51 IN THE REAR AND ROOF, THIS ALLOWS YOU TO SHOOT BEHIND WITH EASE. WHAT WERE GOING TO HAVE TO DO IS GET THE FLOATING PLATFORMS BUILT OR WELDED AND PUT THE BLINDS ON TOP , THEN SECURE.

COULD BE INTERESTING, BUT I THINK THE STYROFOAM BLOCKS MAY MAKE THIS PROJECT GO A LITTLE SMOOTHER.

DAMN...IT S GOING TO BE A LONGGGGGGGGGG HOT SUMMER!!

NOHERE, I've been by the fellas house 3 times the past couple of days and can't catch him at home. What he has are 6 big pieces of styrofoam. It looks like they are 6ft long, 3ft wide, and 2ft thick. They aren't encased in anything and look a little rough, but ought to keep something out of the water.
