oh yeh i have started coating all of my decoys with a satin polyurethane. even my full bodies. so this might help your dekes stay looking good longer

Jtdu, what issues did you have with the first box of real images? I'm seriously considering buying some this year. I know a fella that had some in his boat last year, and those decoys looked incredible. They would be going in the 12 slot bags and be used strictly for boating in. G&H standards with the sand let out for walking in.

My main problem with GHG floaters are the weight. You get a big back of any weighted keel GHG's and it'll break your back just trying to pick them up. I really like the GHG full body mallards and pins. Hunted over some of the GHG floater specs and FFD full body specs and they look amazing.

There are a few hand painted G&H canadas mixed in with the GHG specs.

the only problem i had was on the greenheads the paint was flaking off. cabelas said no problem and they shipped my a new dozen before i even shipped the chipped ones back to them. the customer service lady told me to apply some satin polyurethan and i will never have that problem again. and i hunted over them every weekend this past season and they still look new. i am hard on dekes. throw them in the boat, stake'em in a drake bag, whatever you can imagine. so far this new dozen i got i am very pleased with. you are right they look outstanding. i wish they made a real image pintial

Thanks for the info man. Does the satin urethane make the real image decoys shine at all? I imagine it would at first, then maybe after a few trips in and out of the bag they dull back up? I agree on the pintails too!

I think Avery/GHG makes the real image decoys for Cabela's? Not shure, but the hens in person are the most realist looking hen I've ever seen on a production decoy. Thanks again!

I have the cabelas real image dekes. Hands down the best looking dekes out there. G&H and GHG come nowhere close. I use mine in a slotted bag for boat riding and after two years they still look great. I keep em out of the sun but other than that I don't baby them. They are oversize an a bit heavy but if you buy dinky decoys you'll get a dinky limit. Good looking dekes make all the difference in the world.
