I like 3's when I can find them.. But am not afraid to use #4... If you put limits on size your going to be getting real restrictive in allowing yourself to find "legal" shot when you need it.. So no restrictions.. Let the markets work.. I am not sure you find anything over #6 in steel anyway.. Unless you order it..

I use steel 4s and heavy shot 6s, (steel 2s or bbs and hevi 4s on real windy days). I know my distance. Louisiana weekend, the boys shot steel 7s with 20 gauge cylinder and skeet chokes; it was a bonafide smack down and I'll be shooting steel 7s at bluewings in the decoys next season. There's plenty enough rules already. Ethical (and effective) hunters have the responsibility to practice making clean kills.

Steel 3's pattern best in my gun at most reasonable distances. I will use steel 2's in a pinch, but have never tried any steel shot smaller than 3's.
Growing up in the good old lead days, I almost always shot 4's, unless I was hunting in S.W. Ms. on a wood duck shoot when we shot mostly lead 6's and some 7 1/2's.
The few times I have sprung for heavy shot, I have bought 4's and 6's.
We don't need any more government regulation on what we can shoot at ducks.

Most of the Ducks we saw at the end of Season, Shot size wouldn't have mattered. YOu would have to have had a Surface to Air Missle to reach them anyway.

i shoot 3" 4's steel. Got a hook up that can get them for around 8.50/bx
I bought some high brass 6's for rabbit hunting from wal mart and they were $13.50. I can't afford to shoot lead anymore
