By using some of the views expressed on this forum you should simply quit using plastic realistic decoys and go back to the black painted milk jugs they used in the early 20th century. You should also forget your acrylic duck call and make your own. Why don't you abandon your outboards and aluminum duck boats and go back to the wooden boats with oars. Let's also walk two miles across a buckshot field instead of using a four wheeler. Everything I just mentioned has led to the demise of more ducks but is the progress of technology. The government will outlaw methods of hunting if they are too effective such as english hens, baiting, and sink boxes. They obviously feel that this is not so effective as to significantly increase the harvest.

I simply do not understand the logic on this subject. If it is legal, then I do not understand how it becomes unethical. These are not magic wands and the ducks have already educated themselves to the machines and are shying away from them. It is just technology that hurts no one. What is the difference in a jerk cord and a mallard machine. The main difference is the cost. I can only hunt during the weekends and with the poor hunting we have had the last two years I need any advantage that I can get.

I usually avoid this topic,but tonight,just can't resist the urge.Everybody hates the mojo and then some of you want to talk about ethics.And then this is where I get confused.What is the difference between a duck call and a mojo?The duck hears you quackin and decides to come in simply because he thought you were another duck.He sees the mojo and thinks it's another duck and decides to come in.And let's not forget them decoys we got sittin out there bobbing up and down because of a jerk string or the wake on the pond.It's all for the same reason,to get that duck down there where we can get a shot at him.Over here in East Mississippi,we might see in a season what some of you over there in the Delta might see in a day or a week.I know I'm gonna get some heat from this,but,it's simply my personal opinion.I don't see what the difference is in using calls and floating decoys and using mojos.You want ethics?Then fine.Let's get mojos,duck calls and any form of decoys outlawed.Then,let's drop the daily limit back down to two a day.Then,there will be plenty of ducks for the few duck hunters who stayed behind and accepted the new changes.Now in reality,it's not gonna happen.Too many people make thier living making calls and decoys and Mojos.Could you just picture a Whistling Wings video where they killed two ducks and went to the house? That would be a very short video unless they filled it with a whole lot of hunts.So,I say if ya got'em and ya wanta use'em,so be it as long as it don't infringe on others.If I had one,I'd probally use it to see if it would help me get a limit,if I got to see that many birds.Just my .02 worth

as an older duck-hunter who has followed this forum for sometime, i see that changes in hunting styles change with every season.. so do attitudes in the way they hunt.... as Randall Miller once stated in a national magazine " Hunters have limited days afield and want success" any method of hunting that makes you happy and are with-in the law, i say go for it....

after all, the fellow who only gets to hunt 5 days a year don't give a hoot about your ethics.... he wants and deserves success....just as much as you do.... i tend to go by the old book, along with painted clorox jugs, and am happy with that.... i measure success a litle different than others.....

I didnt think anyone one the boards knew about the ol clorox jugs, we always tarred prestone jugs. We used roofing tar to cover the jugs, it wont come off. Years ago on the Miss river, we would have about 100 or so jugs out and put 2-3 dozen magnums close to the blind, you talk about ducks, they could pick those black jugs up from wayyy highh or a mile away. And they dont know the difference. I still dont see whey rice field hunters dont use'em??

I would guess..carrylite decoys bout a buck 75 prestone jugs harder to come by heh. of course ya could save milk jugs coke bottles etc...theres always sombody standing in line ta toot there own horn......I think people got a little anal over the whole moto issue take alook in the stores they can't give the f'ers away now..... I had a few of them I built there all in the trash and bottom of the lake wouldn't give ya five bucks for one now not cause I think there un-ethical thats pure BS ......but they aren't effective IMHO anymore and one less thing to mess with.........

Think about how we could all sit around, and talk about, dang, if we had motos, we'd killed them ducks. Dang feds... It'd be great.

Hey, we had a buncha ducks, and the motos helped kill a bunch of ducks. We kilt all the stupid ones. Maybe its natural selection, we kilt the dumb ones, the smart ones breed to smart ones and we got really smart ducks.

I think motos ought to be illegal, 4 outta 5 years. Then, we'd get one year they worked, and 4 we could bitch about not having them. Itd be perfect.

Crutch for wanna be's? You think if they didnt have a moto they'd be more skilled? Like if they have a moto, they don't have a chance for learning anything? Shoot man, if a moto makes someone think they are gonna kill a duck, more power to them. If they dont know $#!+ and skyblast and can't call etc... then they couldnt do those things either way. It's not a charather builder or breaker... its a "@#$%#" toy. It was fun for a while, but its very limited in its effectiveness now. Personally, I think as many ducks have been saved by flairing motos in the last 2 years as where killed by them. I havent used one in 2 years, not becuase I think its unethical, but because it doesnt work, and its a pain in the ass. But if someone wants to or doesnt want too, far be it from me to give a rats ass.

Attacking someone for a toy is silly. lets rag on something serious, like mismatched camo. Now theres a way to tell a no duck killing skyblaster wannabe jerkoff if I ever saw it! bwhahahahahahaha.

Seriously guys... this year sucks. And its not anyone's fault on here, or in washington, or anything but the weather. It happens. Has in the past, and it will again. Most that dont like mojo's say they dont work...they flare birds, birds are mojo shy etc: So if the mojo aint workin or the birds are wary of them then aint it a bonus to those that wont use them. IF the birds wont come in to a hole that has flopping wings then they will find a nice quite hole that dont have the flappers in it. Then the mojo is a bonus for those that wont use them seeing those that do are basically drivin the ducks to the non mojo user!

IMHO, if I found out that pulling My pants down exposing MY big fat white butt would make more ducks cup and land in MY dekes then Look for the fat guy on Tunica with his pants around his ankles...
