Just a tidbit of info. for everyone that is reading. I have been pheasant hunting in South Dakota a couple of times in a small town called Gregory. As far as you can see in those rolling hills there are prarie potholes there. The people there do not duck hunt. All of those ponds are loaded with ducks in October when I have been up there to hunt. The farmer always said, "They won't leave until those ponds are frozen solid". Would anyone believe that for the last ten days it has been colder here than in Gregory SD. Pull it up on weather.com and check it out. In the next couple of days there is a front coming through that is going to make -1 for a couple of days, but for the last ten days to two weeks it has been in the high 40 and high 50's some days there. I think I can safely say that we aren't going to have a "normal" season until the El Nino effect that is keeping that warm air in KS and NE changes. It was the same last year, I was watching. Good luck the rest of the season. We are scrathing a few limits of ducks here and there with lots of scouting. At my camp we should kill a little more than a third of what we kill in a "Normal" season. We have been keeping records for 21 years. Just south of Greenwood. Been taking Junior a lot this year, and that has made it a fun season. The doggie that he sees laying there on the floor all day fetching Greenheads and taking hand signals. He could not get over how cool that was.On Juniors first hunt my father and I each shot a banded Greenhead. On my first hunt about 150 yds. from where we were hunting almost 25 yrs. ago my father shot a banded Greenhead on my first hunt. I am still mad at them, but I guess I am getting older because I have enjoyed the days that I haven't limited out just as much as the great ones this year. Good luck everyone and be safe. Take that kid you have been thinking about taking. Feedcall
