he was ripe so he had to cut him that close.

Yea,
They are old loads. My dad loaded them back in the day and I have seen those things do some real damage. So may be the powder or primers went bad???
Anyway, I am going to stick with factory loads for a while

I had the same problem with my dad's shotgun loads.. If you could cram them down the barrell you had about a 60% chance of them going off. But if they did you best hold on.. He could make a 28 guage kick like a 12..

Thanks, but the taxidermist has one off an older deer that he says will look about like him.

He is at the taxidermist now.
Heck, I didn't even bring him home. I left camp and went straight to the guys house.

Which Taxidermist did you use? There is a guy in Carrolton that does jamup work. I'm sure you know his name.
regardless. fine deer in his prime.

I took him to Danny Ratliff. He does nice work on deer and elk, etc.
He works out of his house around Cruger.
