I say instead of the Gubment spending uneeded money on stuff like paying a caretaker extra money every week to open and close gates, and special cards with our names on them so we won't forget who we are, we just read a frikin website or booklet and see when the dates are. If you don't know when the dates of the game your chasing are, then you don't need to be hunting...honestly.

Your kind of being a bish... 8)screw you champ

The saying is "your being kind of a bich!!" I love how I let one guy borrow some of my material and all of a sudden he gets all the credit for it. Champ sucks, and if he is not careful he is going to get sued for copyright infrigement.

I know for a fact of someone who saw the season dates for '07-'08 after the wardens meeting in Tunica at the Grand, his local warden stopped at his shop to show him, and the paper he had on him said it was to close Dec 3! Then on the web site it was Dec. 4. Wonder who answers for that screw up and can these cats use THAT as an excuse!? :?

With the ever shrinking number of hunters and children becoming interested in the great sport, not to mention the events that happened yesterday with the shooting at a mall that killed several people. Our rights to hunt and bear arms are under attack. We should all be ethical hunters and ambassadors of the sport. STOP making excuses for people who hunt out of season or break any laws related to hunting or guns. There are too many resources to find out season dates and regulations.

Hard to believe anyone is stupid enough to knowingly hunt out of season on a refuge. A costly one, but has to be a mistake.

Frankly, I don't give a chit and have no sympathy for someone that can't read the dates. That being said I would really like someone to explain to me the thinking behind the one day break or just the earlier weekends for that matter. We have so many days set up for duck hunting, why can't they all be scheduled continuously without a break in them?

If hunters cant read the season dates, that probably means they did not read the bag limit, or check the sunrise tables, or water levels, one of their buddies says hey lets go to mississippi and shoot some ducks, and they said "sounds fun" i have no sympathy, i hope their fines are minimal and they learn from their mistakes and get to hunt again soon. Every one makes mistakes, but with the attacks on hunts and gun owners today, we have to be as carefull as possible to preserve our sport.

How could the fines have already been determined? Don't you have to go to court first? Has there been enough time elapsed for this to have occured yet?

They try to utilize the most weekend days possible for the hunters. The breaks at the first of the season do this adn the one day break allows season to close on the latest possible weekend in Jan. instead of the middle of the week.

someone should put together a book or card of all the days of the week and number them within the month so we will be able to keep better track of it

the doc

 The Romans tried that but the Chinese said they were way off.
