Glen Livet wrote:I saw lots of geese flying over my house in Desoto county last night. They were all heading toward the Delta. Here is a question for all you smart duck hunters...Where are they coming from? My guess is they got off track somewhere between Canada and the Delta and are correcting themselves or they spend their summers in NE Canada and their winters in the Delta.
everyone knows that all snow geese stop in memphis for some "Interstate BBQ" and a trip to Beal street!!

With the south winds at 20-25 mph we experienced yesterday morning, I doubt there were any migrating in the southbound lanes. They's ridin' the tailwinds now.

Grandfather in law and all the uncle in laws went on the annual guide trip to Reelfoot Sat. I didn't go because early in the year up there is usually just donating to the guide....they smacked them. If it weren't for bad luck- I'd had no luck at all

5-7" of snow on the ground from Saturday afternoon here and in WI. 2-4" more coming tomorrow night and then again on Saturday. It was -1 this morning. Looks like the snow is here to stay until at least x-mas.

Had to drive to Iowa today. I saw about a hundred ducks or so scattered about in North Arkansas and South Missouri... About all we saw... Saw plenty of turkey in North Missouri... Finally saw some deer in Iowa City... I didn't realize how big the deer here were... 2 of them would feed my big booty for a full year...

I used to love looking at the satellite speck tracker on the net. I was amazed at how those geese moved back and forth with the weather. One goose was in Canada one day, 2 days later on the Rio Grande River. I remember one goose that left Texas and was in the Delta a week or so later.
I just recently got a sat photo of a bluebill with a satellite transmitter. It was on Ponchartrain on 11/17. On 11/20 it was in the Delta. The weird thing is that another bluebill that was one number off (two transmitters in sequence) was also on Ponchartrain on the 17th, but moved closer to the Gulf on the 20th. One went north while the other went south.
They move back and forth so much that it doesn't make much sense to me. I guess it does to them, though.

would you please be kind enough to keep us updated on the Cleveland area? We have a lease on some rice fields btwn Cleveland and Drew and have had NO ducks to date. As it is a 550 mile treck to drive over to scout, your insights would be greatly appreciated.
I have a contact in Belzoni; they don't have any ducks either.
thnx

Just got off the phone with my guys in MO. 5 men 5 limits out by 6:58. One guide and 4 hunters that don't shoot that great. He said he had big groups of mallards falling in the dekes. I hope they don't stack up there and continue on down.
