I said in the post it's an inverter. And mudhog I have no idea whatsoever about cb's...none. You are on a whole 'nother level than me on this subject. I guess I'll just ask 75 and go from there.

I'm curious as to how you own something that you do not know what function it serves?

An inverter isn't used for a CB unless it's a DC power supply. A DC power supply will take 120V input and have 12V DC output. Normally used to power up a CB on a work bench or any other 12V load source.

An inverter will take 12v DC and "invert" it to 120V AC. This allows you to run any 120V AC item off a 12V DC battery.



what is the make and model of what you have? Model can be found on the mfr. label. Do you have a picture of the item?

I think it's safe to say that noone, including myself, have a clue as to what you have.

his dad bought a house to flip and the people got everything out they wanted to keep and this was some of the stuff left behind

does anybody know what an 11-49 is?

I'll have to get it out and look it's put up in my shed. I don't know what your incinuating talltimber, but as duckiller said my grandparents bought a house that an old woman lived in. She died over a year ago an nobody has been in the house up to a few weeks ago and that was her family getting anything they wanted. I am refinishing the house and had the grizzly task of stripping it clean before painting and remodeling. Her daughter was the only close family member she had and I called about the cb equipment and she said keep it. I usually don't feel the need to have to explain myself to someone but this is an exception.

In mississippi there are two types of ten codes used.....low band and high band......most police departments use high band....state agencies and sheriffs use low band.

Wingmans ten codes are right on.

Alot of agencies use there own codes...

Thanks for the clarification. Although my post was intended to be joking when I said "I think yall are special....." it seems it was read as serious.


Far as wikipedia goes, it's a place with some very good information. Yes, depending how technical you want to go determines it's accuracy. Most people don't bother with state or local agencies. Wikipedia is a growing site of knowledge, feel free to include your information to help others out and contribute your knowledge on the subject.




greenhead, when you get a chance, dig it out your shed and post the information (Model number mostly) and we can confirm what it actually is and help you more. Without that, we are all shooting into the air.
