I'll be in Athens, GA watchin' my little boy play rugby. I will be at the pitch (that's what they call a rugby field for all of you in the great unwashed masses) :) for the tailgate party at 11:00, game at 1:00, and after my son's Dawgs whup up on them Yellerjackets from GA Tech, I'm gonna get back on MSDucks and expect a full report from all y'all back home. Hope you have a great hunt and wish I could be back home with you...even them Bolivar Co. Boys! :) Save some for Thanksgiving when I get back!

Crow, what position does your son play? Rugby is a rough but fun sport. I played for about a year and a half in college at MSU. My mom and dad came to watch us take on Auburn once and mom couldn't watch because it made her to nervous.

Oh yeah, there is nothing like a rugby party!

gw2, He's sure not a halfback at 6"7"! He alternates at prop and 2nd line (think that's what it's called, anyway he's one of those boys in the back what has to tape their ears down to keep them from gettin' tore off!) in the scrum and is a lifter on throw ins. He scored his first try a couple of weeks ago and had to zulu...glad Momma wasn't there to see that! Some of the girls there thought he was right impressive, though!

By the way, what has 30 legs and one set of teeth? A rugby team! Hope you have a successful hunt this week.

That tall, he ought to make a good second row. I bet mom would have been proud while he had to zulu. I had to zulu in Memphis during a tournament. Eight teams and about 300 more people at the party that night when 5 of us from different teams got our initiation.

i'll be at work :? . my 2 year old son is handicapped, so most of my vacation days are spent at the emergencyroom getting seizures stopped. still, i wouldn't trade my boy for ducks. i'll still have plenty of days in the marsh when the full season starts although my dog thinks differently. i may have to get up a little early and watch phil robertson take a few on tape. happy hunting.

"Zulu Warrior"- Get buck naked and run through a crowd screaming with rugby ball in hand(and usually getting beer thrown on you while doing it)

In rugby you score a "try" instead of a touchdown. When you score your first try in a game you have zulued. Either after the game or that night at the party(a rugby game or tournament always has a huge party and the host team buys the beer) your team starts calling for the "zulu warrior" and you either do it willingly or your team will make you wish you had done it.

Don't ask me how it got started because I don't know. Its just one of the traditional things like getting deer liver put on your face after killing your first deer.

dos gris, after one scores his first try ("touchdown" in football), as part of their initiation, they have to strip off naked and run around.Same concept but different rituals persist in different places as to what the "running around" part constists of.
