Changing subjects and the table a bit.....THE best team in Alabama wears burnt orange & blue and reside in a lovely village on the plains.

Also, for WebbMaster....I wonder where Jackie learned about M$U as you put it??? Oh, I forgot.....he PLAYED for UAT and the Bear. I guess the $$ that Bama spends on it's players naturally follow it's coaches/players as well. THAT's why State buys it's players too, right?

For Jackie Sherrill to be an alum of your school, one of "Bear's Boys", and one of the few coaches in SEC to not report you on the latest recruiting violations (that was Spurrier, Fulmer, Nutt & Cutcliffe who turned you in), you Bummer fans sure hold a major disdain for one of your own in Jackie Sherrill. That is the ONE thing I have never understood about you people.

Ducky Dan-

You are a little bit out of your league. For one, we played Oklahoma on the road and we played them to the bitter end. Unlike you kids who got embarassed by Oregon. There is a difference.

I'm not saying that we're going to win a national title or even the SEC West

Yep. You will never do that. Agreed. Welcome to reality.

You may kill us

Yep. We usually do. If you use logic like some and say 4 of last 7, or some other meaningless number of years, then it appears you have the upper hand, but judging by the looks of your team so far, I feel pretty safe.
Too bad you guys have to come east and visit a real stadium again this year.

As for USM, you guys won't even play them, so another weak point on your behalf.

And if you are aware of how SEC basketball works, you would know that Bama won the SEC Title this past year. M$U won the tournament. There is a difference. Your point is mute.

Who has the most SEC BBall Championships and SEC Tourny Victories...between M$U and Bama?...take a wild guess. It's the same school that has the second most SEC titles in BBall behind Kentucky.
Get your facts straight.

An average team in football? Hmmmm? We are 3-1 and lost to the #3 team. Don't think you can call us average quite yet. Lets just say that Bama will be far ahead of M$U in all rankings by Nov 9.

When did I mention Bear? That one kills me. Great comeback! Should we look at all time record since Bear left? Thats what I thought!

As for ScottS-
I could care less about Sherrill. If you wanna talk about probation and recruiting, start another thread. Did Bama just score again on Auburn?
31-7

Just reminding all the Miss faithful who leads them in BBall.

Obviously Kentucky is first. They are like the Bama of football.

Without Kentucky BBall, there would be no SEC.

Without Bama Football, there would be no SEC.

Okay, I hate to ruin it for you, but Bama is NOT a frontrunner! If you want to talk about the SEC team that screams football, you'd have to look at either Tennessee or Florida. Florida and Tennessee are to SEC football what Bear is to Bama fans. They're the only reason we get any national recognition anymore! You Bama people wouldn't bother me so bad if you didn't think you were the best in the SEC. Sure, you may be better than State the last two years, but who hasn't??? I know we've had a couple of bad seasons, but at least I can admit that. You guys wouldn't even get close to an SEC title this year WITHOUT probation. Just be glad that at least you have an excuse and you can sit back and watch the better teams win. Predictions>>>Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina are the teams to beat in the SEC this year.

We'll see Ducky Dan!

Thats why they play the games!

Whe exactly is M$U more envious of: Bama or Ole Miss.

From reading your posts, it must be Bama.

Guess what? When Bama beats everyone they play, the losses still count.

Until then, you will need the following to develop "big boy" status:

a real football stadium
an SECCG title
1/4 of Bamas all time bowl appearances.

(and your bball team has some cathcing up to do)

Shout out to Mustard Bustards-

You just got your arses kicked by a team that Ole Miss beat last year so who do you play next? Arkansas? Auburn? Georgia? like Ole Miss and State do after they play a SEC team? Nope. You play ARMY next...after that I dont even know who you play but it doesnt matter because other than your non-conference games and the occassional decent team from Louisville or Cincy, your schedule is a joke...If Ole Miss played in CUSA, we would win it 4 years out of 5...

As for Bama fan-

Ole Miss has been to bowl games in 4 of the last 5 years and should have gone last year...That is not mediocre...Are we a powerhouse? No. Are we better than mediocre? You bet. We are a solid Top 30 program year in and year out. And dont write the Rebels off for this year. There is a lot of football left to be played and only one thing is for sure: Bama will not win the SEC West or go to a bowl game.

Now this confirms the Ole Miss mentality/logic:
-Top 30 Program each year
-your team lost to xxx last year, so we are better than you.

You guys ahve accepted mediocricy and are proud of it!

REALITY CHECK:

Mississippi is the 1st, 2nd or 3rd poorest state in the country depending upon what factor you look at...Simply put, the Civil War took more out of MS than any other state since so much of our wealth was tied to agriculture...We have honestly only recovered from the War of Northern Aggression in the last 2 or 3 decades...In other words, while we are still at the bottom in a lot of categories, the gap has closed significantly...

In terms of sports, unlike 2 of the other poorest states (ARK and LA) we have not 1 major university, not 2 major universities but 3 major universities, not to mention the SWAC schools...yet we still compete against those schools very well...

Note that the decision to have 3 major universities was made over 100 years ago in the case of UM and MSU and over 50 years ago in the case of USM so to suggest that there is anything UM fans can do about this is ridiculous...

UM has 12,000 students on campus in Oxford...12,000 for a state university is incredibly small...Texas Tech for example has over 28,000...Yet year in and year out, we compete well with schools 2 and 3 times our size...As evidenced by our Top 30 ranking and our bowl appearances/victories...

Only a Bama fan would talk such smack given that we beat you last year (as well as SEC Champ LSU) and we arent under investigation by NCAA much less on probation...In other words, even cheating you werent good enough to beat us last year...

Most Divsion 1 schools would die to have UM's bowl appearances... Contrary to popular belief, UM has been to 10 bowl games in the last 20 years so dont give me that 'way back in the 50s' crap and UM has won at least 7 ballgames per season each of the last 5 years...There are many, many schools (including Bama) that cannot say that...

And like I said: There is a lot of football to be played yet...Were UM to get hot and take the West like LSU did last year, your comments would be even more pathetic than they already are as one of the most convicted felons in the NCAA jailhouse...

Besides, what the hell are you doing on a MISSISSIPPI duck hunter site? We got the ducks, you got $#!+. Nuff said.

One more thing Bammer fan:

UM played Memphis and Vandy on Jefferson Pilot....We played Texas Tech on ABC...Now we play Florida on CBS...The only game we have played this year that was not on TV was against UL-Monroe...That would be 4 TV games out of 5 games played thus far...

Since when do mediocre teams play on TV that much?

Where do these Bama guys get off coming on OUR state page talking junk about their teams??? Ole Miss is doing good this year. I used to go to school with one of their DBs. I try to keep up with them and see how they're doing! Good luck to ya'll! Wish us luck in Isidore this weekend!

WEBBMASTER WROTE>>>>>
Whe exactly is M$U more envious of: Bama or Ole Miss

Whe? What's that? "O" is on the other side of the keyboard! Is that why you Alabama people talk so much about football? Do you not know anything else? Obviously they don't teach you much over there in Tuscaloosa! Heck, I go to "cow college" and can still make sense when typing!!! RUN FORREST RUN!!!!!!

tyler watts should be benched and play brodie coyle (SP???) for the rest of this year. PLAY FOR THE FUTURE. Tyler had absolutely nothing to do with Alabama coming close to beating Oklahoma, as a matter of fact he eventually was the root cause of them losing that game. The special teams/defense scored most of their points in that game and he simply pissed it all away with a couple of PEE WEE league quarterback follies.

Ducky Dan-

Are you on the Spell Police? Oh, my god, I hit the "e" instead of the "o"

I guess since you can't comprehend the fact Alabama won the SEC BBall title last year, your only comeback is my spelling.

You are really reaching.

And guys, please settle down. This is an internet message board. Let's not take things personally. I hunt in Mississippi, but that doesn't mean I can't talk about my school!

This thread was titled "Who is the best team in Mississippi?" A very objective question. Try not to get your waders in a wad.
