if you're gonna buy an auto, come off your pocketbook a little....dang, it ain't like the Mrs. is gonna bust your chops over spending money on a good gun
You don't need a stinkin' auto to kill ducks. Save your money! Disclaimer it does make you look cooler in the blind. Nothing's better than hearing someone make fun of a short barreled pump and then run to the plug with an auto and never touch the duck/goose while the pump pulls cleanup for them.
That be aimed at ole Quackers

Guns
I had some problems at the begining of last year with some guns, wrapped one around a tree, but I went and bought a Browning BPS 3.5 and I could not be happier with it. I can shoot just as fast and more acurate than most people I have seen with my pump. I love the gun. Never jams, One bolt takes it apart and I bought it for $475 New (Browning had a mail in Rebate)
Quackhead is right, His Stoger is a good gun. It throws a hell of a pattern. It wouldn't be a bad purchase, plus they are relatively cheap.

I bought a 2000 right when they first hit the market and have put mine through hell since day one with very minimal trouble. The only trouble I've had is the bolt handle got loose about halfway through this season and fell out during a hunt bout 2 weeks ago. They're currently on backorder as the fellow I contacted to order a new one told me that this has been a fairly common occurence. He said that he speculates that part of the reason for the backorder is due to the fact that they could be addressing the problem so that the new bolt handles don't do this. He said it was still ok to shoot and so I've been doing so since then, as it's really just a minor inconvenience. As far as the gun goes, keep em reasonably clean and you shouldn't have no problems, and you won't beat it for the money.

Yes Quackhead. It was an 870 Express that I tryed to break on a willow tree. And yes, it wouldn't pump. The lick didn't help matters at all. Do you remeber the time I tryed to throw my Browning A-5 out of the boat and it bounced of a tree and came to rest in the bottom of the boat.
Good times, I tell you....I love this Chit
