I had to put my dog down last month. I was a relief. He had been limping around for 6m and I was tired of seeing him be less than 100 percent. The only advice I have is do not drag out their suffering for your comfort. Good luck and God Speed.

Thank you all for thinking of us!
Good news from the vet today!!!
Browndogg is going to pull through. She is feeling much better, and we will get to carry her home with us for good tomorrow.
Though her insides still have quite a bit of recovering to do (I’ll spare y’all the details), the leaking has stopped and she has held down a couple of very small meals today.
They checked her out with an ultrasound today and found no tears or punctures; she does have some damage to her colon and intestines. This will heal.
Things are looking up!
The vet said she has never seen a dog ‘bounce back’ like this. I am proud of our little fighter.
We still do not know what caused this mess (they are thinking some type of virus or bacteria); we’ll just be happy counting our blessings.
The recovery should take a couple of weeks and include some special diets and antibiotics.
We want to thank all of you who called and sent messages and prayers. It has been a long couple of days, and these things mean a lot to us (and Browndogg). We know just how lucky we are, and are thankful for it everyday.
Love you all,
A & K

SBE 4 years ago my wife called me and DIxie my dog was having seisures. She had literally blown up in the utlity room. Bloody diarreah. Any way the vet ran all kinds of tests. She had been poisoned with Timek. given to her in a hot dog. One of my neighbors had lost a dog earlier that week same thing. Anyway one of the neighbors saw my dog in another neighbors garbage that morning and that neighbor had fed her. I went to the police and got a report. That evening I confronted the nieghbor and he admitted to poisoning my dog cause it wouldn't stay out of his garbage. I lit in to his booty and when the police got there they took me in. The neighbor wouldn't press charges cause I told him I would kill him. Anyway I know how you feel.
