dont exclude cape san blas or st. george island...a bit more to the east, but not nearly as commercial...appalachicola is right there as well, which is the oyster capital of the world...cool old towns...

PCB is nice but last couple of years we have went to destin or orange beach. I think we will continue to go to destin. Just my 2 cents.

You can look at the website for Reflections by going to - http://www.reflectionsatsterling.com I have been told that the Marriott at Bay Point will actually manage the rentals for these. We are to close on these units early Feb.
You can call Joe or Wanda (Sales staff) for more info. and to find out exactly when you can sign-up for a rental unit. Our unit is 608 B -two bedroom/2 bath. This place will also have an awesome pool as well. You can rent a skiff, Seadoo, pontoon, etc. and go to Shell Island for some snorkeling for large shells. Their number is: 866-388-6588. I am assuming I can rent our unit directly as well and if so, I will be more than happy to offer at a discount to some of my MS Ducks buddies. If you are really serious about booking a unit, please let me know.

I like Orange Beach, just 'cause my buddies all have condos there. I spend my "condo" money on duck hunting. It all works out!

I like PCB cause the inlaws have a house/trailer/thing down near the state park, private pools, beach, etc...it's pretty nice.
I get to save a little bit of money to duck hunt.
It is true PCB is in the middle of a major overhaul.
Where will all the spring breakers go now?

Having grown up in Tallahassee, I have seen things change alot in the area that stretches from Appalachicola to Orange Beach. The most striking change is out of control commercialization & development. It is being as expensive a destination as disney world.
Also, St. Joe/Advantis is selling all of its timber holdings for development (about 300,000 acres). It wants to develop entire resort communities for retiring baby-boomers. These will be multi-million dollars seaside homes, well out of our league.
I think they are making a huge mistake, the biggest attraction to this area was its relative quaintness and reasonable prices. Us "po folks" will take it down the road, and they won't be able to draw to volume need to support the local businesses.

Not sure where all of the Spring Breakers will now go. The cities realize this crowd represents way too much liability and not enough money. Spring Break is a 3-4 week opportunity and portrays the host city/beach as a big party and does nothing to attract the families, golfers, fisherman, retirees, etc. That is where the money is.
As for all comments regarding the Gulf Coast, you can't go wrong with any - from Cape San Blas all the way to Fort Morgan.

I found a new place I'm considering. A co-worker visited this place last summer and it is very very nice. 5 star resort to start with.
For a 5/11 arrival and 5/18 departure, it's $518 per adult for an all incluvise stay. It's in Mexico and on the Pacific. The place is Riu Jalisco.
Now that doesn't include any flights.
I will also research the different places yall have listed along with the individual's condo that may be available. Myself, I'd rather stay on the gulf side instead of the bay side. It's a personal preference and the sense of being on the gulf and facing south overlooking the gulf itself.

St. Goerge Island area is a terrible place, stay away from it.

I agree with Orange Beach...But staying at the Caribe is just a waste of money to me..They are very nice condos but they are on the bay side of the highway. I agree that Windward point, Bluewater, Pelican Point, or one of the Phoenix's would be a nice place to stay.
