You are stuck between the proverbial rock and a hard place. Don't mess things up between you and your buddy, make them unbearable for the kid and he'll not want to go again (tough love). You could, however, go with someone else because of a boat malfunction, low water, no ducks, just whatever...and that you're invited with them and can't invite someone to an invited hunt. If you'd like I can go with you and play the "mean guy".

Well I understand about your friend and all but IMO you should let him know what time to be there and let him know if he's gonna be late then not bother comming cause you'll be gone.
About the kid...... hmmmmmm I think its the dad place too let him know to quit the complaining and suck it up and if that's all he want to do then stay at home. I know I would right quick put a stop to mine doing it............. On the other hand you friend maybe scared he wont be able to hunt with the kid in the future and just trying to spend as much time with him as he can, but still the kid needs to grow up a bit I think. I would talk to the dad about it really getting on your nerves and you dont want to get onto the kid but you wish he would tell him to stop complaing about everything or leave him at home if he wants to continue to hunt with ya......... tough situation either way you look at it ...... My best advice is talk to the dad about these issues...... make it his choice on weather he continues to hunt with you or not..... Good Luck!!!!

Well I feel for you thats a hard place to be, if it was me I would attempt to talk to your friend about it after all if he is a true friend he will understand and he will make it a point to correct it and stop it from happening any more

we are told that we must accept less than acceptable behavior by the PC crowd. It is time the we ask people to be responsible do what is right. If someone is always late that is just disrespectful!!! At some point they must be responsible to be there on time. I find that my most enjoyable hunts is when everything is on time including the setup, sunrise and ducks.

Best wishes on this. But I am tired of everyone worried about upsetting someone. Besides the kid was more excited about gameboy. He was not happy to be there. He shouldn't be there. That is like having someone there against their will. (kidnapping).

Let those who want to be there --- be there!!!!

We have a 5 min rule with my friends. Don't call and say I'm running late..... We're gone. Only one time was a guy left.
