Yep, they keep the deer stirred up on opening morning of public spots that's for sure. Expect all the deer there to be nocturnal now.

Saw nothing sat morn but could hear a buck up in a thicket just ripping the trees. He never showed. Got back on the same stand about 230 at 4:00 7 slicks came out at the end of the plot bout 150yds 4:20 a 6 and 8 came out. Could not make my self pull the trig on the 8 he was borderline on camp size. Did not want to spend a $100 that day. I watched them till bout 5:15 when 5 mo does came out right under the stand picked out the biggest slick and dropped her. Good deer management if i say so my self. Hunted Sunday afternoon nuttin but does and 2 button heads. Be seeinf ALOT of scrapes they are gona get crazy come muzzleloader season.

I killed a doe, my four year old boy was with me. After I shot there was another doe still in front of us so I asked him if he wanted to shoot it. He looked at me and said yes. He got his play gun, cocked it and shot at the doe and turned around to say that he got it. This was great morning for both of us.

I didn't see anything till about 8:30 Saturday Morning. Then I heard a Twig snap behind me and it was two bucks. they were about 80 yards walking to me at an angle. 1 8 point around 120 class and a 10 point that dwarfed the 8 point. 2nd biggest deer I even seen before on my stand. he walked within 26.5 yards and I was bow hunting and i couldn't get a shot and i had a few lims in my way. I was sick and i'm still sick about it. I didn't spook him so maybe i will get him this week. they walked by me and went in some pines and after that i counted 15 does come out of the pines and ran right by me. I guessed they scared everything out of there. The 10 point probably would score 150-160 range. Tall, wide and massive. I hope I get him. he was by far a deer of a lifetime with a bow or gun and you just don't expect to see him opening weekend of gun season.

Saw the same activity on the island. Scrapes everywhere! Found 1 about 6 ft. big! (put a camera on it...) It's likely with all this scraping, fights, etc. our rut may come eariler than Dec. 8-15 this year!!

BTW, been OOT......call me back or I will call u today. Headed to the island this PM and service may not be that good...
