i just ordered a 870 super mag and beretta is a goner. i cant take a chance in outlawing with a turd. it shot 3-400 dove shells like a champ and has gone to shiit from there. 27 degrees and it hangs up like it wont even cycle hardly. i am going back to a gun i know i can leave in the boat all night then get up and it is frozen over with ice and pump her a few times and she ready. i always preached of never owning an auto again and i never will.

A beretta or benelli will not cycle light loads. Benelli website says that it does not recommend loads lighter than 1 1/8. You also should clean the powder off of the gas ports and that silver cylinder regularly without oil. (Oil collects powder and will in time clog it up.) Use carburator cleaner or a gun cleaning solvent to clean the gas cylinder. Several of us went to Canada hunting, but shoot sporting clays for a tune up. We all had Benelli SBE's and shot light loads. Every single gun would not eject. i put in 1 1/8 ounce loads and the problem was solved.
Here is a link to Benelli SBE II specifications.
http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/sbe2.tpl
Click on the SBE picture then select specifications. Under the picture of the gun are its specifications. Scroll down to you get to the fine print. It says that the gun is not recommended for loads less than 3 drams or 1 1/8 ounces for all Benelli 12 gauge guns. Hope this helps.

I have shot 1oz loads out of my Benelli and never had a cycle problem. The beretta would not shoot anything no matter if it was 1 or 2 oz.

I got $20 bucks says I can make that Beretta shoot anything, including 7/8 oz loads in about 10 minutes.
My Xtrema 1 will shoot 1 oz and 7/8 oz all day long.

You must be better than the Beretta Company since they could not make it work.

GC and I happen to be Beretta guru's, commonly referred to as experts.

Gulfcoast....I love my Extrema and it shoots fine. I handled an Extrema 2 recently and was surprised it seemed to feel and point even better than my Extrema. Is it my imagination or did it really seem to be a little more streamlined in the grip area and point better. Also , do you feel the kick-off feature is worth the money or is the regular version ok. I appreciate your feedback. neil

I am not a gunsmith. But I have yet to find a Beretta or Browning shotgun with "jamming problems" that could not be fixed in about 5 or 10 minutes. There are only a few things that can go wrong. Beretta is not noted for going the extra mile in thier service department. I have had to install my own hammer braces before when they said the ones on my gun were fine.
If you really do think that there is something wrong with your Beretta mechanically, send it to Rich Cole at
http://www.colegun.com. He is the best Beretta smith on this planet, and has a very good turn around time. Most people bypass Beretta's service department, and go straight to Rich Cole, especially on high grade guns.
