Never found calls I like better (sound or quality or not sticking) than any Mallardtone.

RNT single reed acrylic and Gaston double reed cocabola. Both are very easy blowing calls and sound great.

I use single reeds only...
Sothern Game calls are the best out there today in my book. I have an old banded little joel that hits hard and loud for open water and fields. It's cocobola.
I use a single reed acrylic that's cut down for the timber and thick stuff. Has a good farty kind of tone to it. They like it and don't spook when they are in tight.
BUT my favorite is my old Southland call from Mr. Hartly in Leland. I got this call from Milton Holcomb about 25 years ago and it is sweet. Quiet as a mouse and is deadly on em. I'll hang on to it for ever. It is maaaaajic in the timber, brakes, and small water. It's soft as can be - hence the name "SoftCall".

I like those old Southland calls also. I have 2 of them. I like the DR-85 Haydel for meat calling but I found a new favorite last weekend, the acrylic Buck Brush call by Buck Gardener. It is pure duck, easy to get that hen squeal at the end of each note. Deadly!

Timber calls: Cocabola ECHO or Southern Game's Little joel.
Open water or fields:Acrylic Roten's or Longbarrel RNT.
My Roten's is by far the best call I own but if you blow that acrylic mother in a timberhole you'll crunch your eardrums. I watched RNT company make some calls last winter in Stuttgart. You would be amazed at how precise the machines are and how easy it is to make. 1) Place wood in holder inside of computerized auger/finisher. 2) Press start. 3)Sit back and finish your cold beer. It is a interesting place right next to Mac's. Worth stopping by.

I mostly use a Banded Little Joel by SGC in Clarksdale, MS. I ALWAYS carry a DR-85 by Haydels. Now, however, I have found a call made in Greenwood called Bag Limit Calls. It has a good tone and is really easy blowing.
