Schaeffer has to be a student first. Remember this is a guy that loves school so much he went all summer instead of taking a break.

The first real hit Schaeffer got at UT resulted in an injured shoulder that sidelined him for the rest of the year.

He can use his wheels all he wants. Better hope that OL is solid.

Welcome back to the SEC Brent...this aint Sequoia Valley Junior College Techical.

Duckter,

You and your mullet needs to worry about Alabama this year instead of Schaeffer and the Rebels.

Wait a minute you do need to worry about Schaeffer and the Rebels on October 14, 2006 in Tit town.

Webbmaster,

You and Duckter need to hang out together with your Alabama mullets.

I can assure you no one in Alabama is worried about any Ole Miss team coming to Tuscaloosa...regardless of the QB.

Perhaps will brush our mullets together and laugh at Ole Miss.

yes UM got two players on that list and that may have worried bama.......if they had not gotten three of their own players on there.

3. Sr RB Ken Darby
#4 Sr FB Leron McClain
#4 JR OLB Juwan Simpson

So you see they have a linebacker to shut down BS, a fullback to run over willis so that darby can run free all day and make things misreable for the rebs, just like every other year.

Rebelyelp,

It has been so many years since someone from State has made a list they are excited about those 6. That is the first time in 5 years Ms. State has been mentioned in football and a national level and they are proud.

Nutmeg,

You fail to see my point or fail to want to admit I am right. Schaeffer is not proven, Russell is. How can an unproven QB be ranked that high? It is really simple. All of the other stuff is icing on the cake. Granted, it is easier to prove one's self with talent around, something Ole Miss is fairly deplete of at the moment. Also, to compare "Russell at UM" to the record of your recent post-Eli QBs is rediculous.

Schaeffer would at best be second string at LSU, most likely third or fourth. LSUs current third team QB is the reason you have new coaches from Miami.

Don't get me wrong, I think Schaeffer will be good, maybe with time he will prove to be better than Russell, but to rank him that high as a junior having not proven himself has many across the country scratching their head.

JMO..... but I do believe it's a fair comparison, if you're comparing the talent level of the two individual quarterbacks, you have to put both in a controlled variable, just like any other experiment......

Mel Kiper said he was the #5 JUNIOR college quarterback. Apparently the reading comprehension around this place is severely lacking.

Schaffer is Schaffer. He is unproven, hasn't taken a snap at an Ole Miss game etc. etc. Some think he'll be good. Some are scared he's gonna be good (you listening GH22?) And some of us think he'll be a serviceable QB in the post-Manning era...a vast step up under center from the last two years. I do not know who is right. But the opinions on this kid on this site alone range far enough that somebody will be right. But Schaffer is Schaffer.

And Patrick Willis is Patrick Willis, the nations leader in solo tackles despite playing with three, count 'em three, injuries last year. I'll take the bet that NOBODY is going to RUN OVER Mr. Willis this year. You will perhaps successfully block him, probably with at least two players. You will not run over him.

ps...I'm not looking for the Rebs to pull of any upsets this year, especially not on the road. But IF Ole Miss wins at Tuscaloosa, I bet we won't hear anything but, "Yeah, but look at the long term record between UA and UM," from most of the Bama faithful on this site. Like I said though, prolly not gonna get to find out this year.

I'm scared that he's going to be actually good?

Now that's funny right there, don't care who you are.

As for UM winning in Tuscalooser, that ain't happening so there's no need for talking about it.
