Happens everyday in high school.

Some kids can ace the hardest stuff put in front of them, but you give them something simple and straight to the point, and they have a brainfart.

it was the florida state exit exam Gh22.... pretty serious deal to fail... especially when you have a "3.0" and a "20" hell, they even gave him the benefit of the doubt and let him take it again and he failed again, pretty obvious that he wasn't quite college material. A kid taking a class that he is told will qualify him for college, where he should be given 1 full credit for, and then only recieving 1/2 credit is a little different scenario. 1 is of a kid getting screwed b/c of a class he took, the other is of a kid getting screwed b/c of the state of florida's exit exam.

the interesting thing, that not many are looking into is like you said, who else has graduated from that school and how were they ruled on. If it's happened before, the school should be liable for advising him to take those classes.

Yes, it's the FCAT, same as the MS FLE.

There is no benefit of the doubt with the FCAT. You can take it up to 5 times from grades 10-12 to pass.

Pretty much typical Memphis City Schools. I've got two years of spanish on my high school transcript with a c average. I was never in spanish, I took French and dropped it quick. I told the GC that it hurt my GPA, being I was an honor student. She told me that I needed those to be admitted into a Tenn BOR school unconditionally. I told her that I had no plans to go to school anwhere in Tennessee. I demanded her to look at my ACT, I didn't even request my scores be sent to any. IT was, hold your breathe, Ole Miss, Arkansas, University of Central Ark, and for some reason SMU well, double d reasons. I was admitted to all with flying colors. It took a call from my Mother to the head office to get it changed. I don't believe shi'te when it comes to integrity and the Memhis City School system, That school was ran by a person that went on to be the SEc of Ed, under Alexander. There was so much grade inflation going on it could have lifted the Titanic off the ocean floor.

The valedictorian of my graduating class made a 13  on the ACT. She tried to study for the ACT. I mean seriously studying: reviewing textbooks and notes from ninth grade till summer before senior year. She worked herself into a total basketcase. In her mind, this was the biggest beat-all, end-all test in the history of the world. Some of the biggest loser dopeheads in school kicked her ass on the ACT.

Standardized tests are overrated and a horrible way to measure whether somebody really knows their subject matter. First of all, they are mostly multiple choice, and there are many studies that show that some people are naturally good at taking multiple choice tests.

Despite her first attempt she took it later with a more relaxed attitude and made a decent score. Nothing great, but decent. She wound up going to State, majored in Architecture, and wound up graduating with honors. Haven't seen her since, but have heard she is having a very successful career.

Test anxiety is also a real problem for some people. I work as a trainer for my company. All of our employees have to take and pass a basic math and blueprint test within four weeks of their start date before they are "officially" hired. Had a lady that I tutored that did very well in class; she had no problem working the problems and getting the correct answers in class, but she would make a "12" or a "27" on the tests. She was a good worker, so they gave her one last chance to pass the test, but first she had to take a one week math class from me. Again, she did well in class. I said, "Why are you here? You ought to blow the test away." She proceeded to tell me that when it came to tests she just went blank. I got permission to give here a "practice test" that really wasn't, but I didn't tell her that. I set it up as just a practice run at the "real" test that she would have to take tomorrow. She made a "98". When I told her she had just passed the real test, she almost passed out.

Sounds to me like there is more of a problem with the high school than the NCAA. If they dont change this in the future then they are idiots. I dmay be wrong but it looks like it is a technicality that could be taken care of very easily by the high school or NCAA. My 2 cents. Either way it is kinda picky.
