Yea, just barely! I really wish Bianco had not sent him stealing in the 7th. There was only 1 out with a runner at second from a balk and he sends him to third with a lefty at the plate. The catcher has a clean shot to third and not only that, but a single scores the run. After all said and done, the batter singles, but then records the third out by trying to stretch it into a double. He probably would have made it to second had the runner stayed at second as the throw would have most likely gone to home allowing the batter to take second on the throw.

Anyway, I am happy we squeezed it out!

Bet Bianco did not call that steal to 3rd. Runner may have had "green light" but by reaction doubt it was a called play.

Nez,

You are probably right, but it was too close of a game at that point to be risking a move like that when you are in scoring position and the bats were going our way...FINALLY. I have to take my hat off to BCC's starting pitcher. He had us off balance up until the 7th! Kid pitched a heck of a game.

Boy, who let all the cream-puff teams into the tournament? It's a damn shame that "real" schools get cut out just to let some slack-azz conference winners in. And they have the nerve to WIN!!?? They act like they oughta be there or something.

Congrats to Ole Miss, you guys are looking good right now, especially with Nebraska losing. It never ceases to amaze how important the little things are in baseball, they may not seem significant at the time, but they are the difference between winning and losing.

State's game yesterday, Elon has the bases loaded and hits a ground ball to third. Instead of a home to first double play, State's 3B throws the ball in the dirt, two runs score and runners end up on second and third....4 runs score and the rest is history.

In Bethune C's big inning, one of their runners has a brain fart and takes a wide turn around third base (when he should have been standing on the bag) and Ole Miss throws behind and get's the guy out. Next batter for BC gets a hit which would have scored him and potentially more depending on how the inning shaped up....

Bottom line, good teams do the little things right and win. Sure, home runs and a great pitcher help out........but it's those little things that matter most!
