Best year ever for me in 35 years of hunting. Total party bag of 160 ducks, over 19 hunts--70% mallards and 80% of those were green. Included in the bag were a couple of redheads, several sprig--my son shot the nicest bull sprig I have ever seen, the spike was over 7" long--no kidding. Other ducks included seveal GWT, gads and a few Widgeon.
The best day was 7 hunters shot 28 greenheads, all at very close range with the wind in the wrong direction. Truly amazing to see. We finished at 10am. Talk about the right spot!
My personal bag was 46, not as impressive as a lot of you other guys, but was my best one yet.

Awesome hunting in the Pacific Flyway. 109 day season and the last two months were amazing. Went to Fiji the first three weeks of the season, and evidently I came back at exactly the right time. Mostly we shoot teal down here, killed about 10 bull sprig but none with a really good long tail (still tasty though). A few gads, wigeon, etc. Never got skunked all season.
Also, trips to Canada, Missouri and Arkansas were very productive. Canada is a dream, MO and AR were good too.
Overall, best season ever.

Only been serious about duck hunting since 2002. This is by the far the best season I've ever had. Hunted every weekend starting with the last weekend of December '05. Killed ducks every hunt. Limited on multiple occasions. Mixed bag of ducks, but mostly teal, mallards, and gadwalls; also got a honker or two most days.
Many good memories to take with me: good friends and good conversation, sunrises & sunsets, and watching the birds react to the calling and work in to the decoys.
Biggest regret: On Saturday morning of the second to the last weekend, I had inexplicably forgotten how to shoot a shotgun. I mean, I hadn't cut a feather all morning. Late in the morning, saw a duck "sneaking" into the decoys from the left. Right before he got to the decoys I could tell it was a Canvasback. The Canvasback is kind of like the "Holy Grail" to our bunch because none of us had ever killed on before (and some of the guys I hunt with have been avid duckhunters since childhood). Missed that sucker with three shots. Only chance to get one all season.

Best season since 99-00. Had a better per hunt average this season (19 per day). But did not top that season number's. 99-00 killed 753 ducks 05-06 602 ducks but hunted ten fewer day's, and no afternoons.

Had a pretty good season. Me and my two boys (12 and 16) killed 105 for the year. Hunted once in Jan. Had a great early season, 18 opening day, and several 15 duck days early, end of Dec. dropped to 3-4 but ended with 2 limits for my younger son on youth weekend

Best season in 3 years but still doesn't compare with my 98/99, 99/00, and 00/01 seasons. Got to hunt around 29 mornings and 4 afternoons. I've got to learn how to hunt the field birds in MS. I've hunted river and timber ducks my whole life so seeing pintails gets me going every time!

Finally, a Mississippian that appreciates a canvasback. Got something for you! Maybe you'll get one next year.
