Yeah, me too.......here's a Black Duck.......
Speculum is more greenish.......feathers indistiguishably different over a larger portion of the body.

Since " they" say alot of hybreds are out there...Id say a hen...did ya check it for an inee or an outee

As for the dozens of mottled ducks ("black mallards" we call them) I've killed, what usually stands out to me is the rusty-orange tinge to their plumage. It's pretty evident in the pics you posted.

As an Ohio hunter who kills blacks on a regular basis, that is DEFINATLY a black duck. ?Mottleds are found primarily on the west coast in the pacific flyway.

Mottleds LIVE on the GULF COAST. Texas, LA., and FLA. They DONT migrate
I still say its a black duck drake
