I have lots of experience with both the Avery"No Tangle" line and the real"Tanglefree" line. There is no comparison, the Tanglefree line is far superior. Unfortunatley I used a huge amount of Avery line 3 or 4 years ago to rig over 400 new decoys. I've had nothing but problems with the Avery line. I've lost a lot of money on lead weights and lost time re-rigging a lot of decoys.

Avery makes a lot of fine products, but their decoy line is a great exception.

Several years ago, we did have some problems with the Quick-Fix line. There was not enough anitfreeze put into the line and it would crack and break in cold weather, that issue was corrected. If you do still have some of this line, you can send in some samples to Customer Service and we will take of it. You can send it either to Tim or Kim and the # is 800 333-5119. Thanks.

Thanks for the info, Scott. Unfortunately for me, my problem was during the first year the line was available from Avery. I bought it because of the crimping system that was also available. This made rigging 400 decoys much faster and easier. I used up all of the line I had. It's simply too long ago to resolve the issue.

Let me say that I own a lot of Avery products and find them to provide great service and also good value for money. I just wish the decoy line had been more thoroughly tested before it was made available to the public. It was a very bad product. I continue to lose lead weights every year but do not want to have to stop and re-rig all my decoys.

Don't worry, I will continue to buy and recommend other Avery products.

I've been using the Drake tangle free cord and it holds up in cold weather. As a plus thier depth adjusters have larger heads on them that are easier to push with neo. gloves on as well. Seems to working for me and thought I would pass it along....

I bought a couple of spools of the Avery tangle free this year and have had the same problem. I was having the problem when I was stringing them. It was over 50 degrees and that stuff would sometimes snap when you put the least bit of pressure on it.

Thought it was just that spool so I tried another. It was a little better, but still broke pretty easily.

I agree with jebster the line crimps are a great time saver.
