GOOOOOOOOD NIGHT!!! 19? Holy hell that's unheard of at Noxubee. Musta been a huge influctuation of coots come in. The reason noone ever kills many big ducks at Noxubee is because they have a place called the Prisock Field. The reason I tell you this is because if your caught hunting it you'll be hogtied and your gun toted out with you. It's restricted access. Johnny Wayne the caretaker said he counted 3000 mallards on it. The next weekend when we went back he said 4000 and they're steadily comin. He gave me and a couple of my buddies permission to go with him next time he goes. Said he was gonna put us to work though.

Mr. Johnny told me Wednesday that there were about 6000 mallards there now and more coming in everyday!

Exactly and maybe 100 will fly to that greentree that is hunted only to be skyblasted. It's gotten so bad they have even put a sign up about all the negative effects of it. Johnny Wayne just come out and said "The reason it aint many big ducks here is cause they can just wake up eat and quack and not have to fly." But oh well that's the Refuge for ya.

Well first off if you go anywhere just to kill a duck you are missing out on alot now don't get me wrong I like to kill ducks to but there is so much more to it than killing ducks. Heck I just love to sit there and watch them come in and I absolutly love to see the dogs work. But on another note If you had a place that was safe to sit in all day and you had plenty of food there would you fly off to where all that shooting is ?

I have already made myself clear on that. I love just bein out there. We were jus talkin about how one guy killed 19 and how hard it is to do at Noxubee. Now you get the pleasure of goin huntin with guys that have dogs, we don't therefore killin big ducks makes it all the more worthwhile. Shootin two woodies in 5 min is fun. But what about after that? After awhile ANYONE no matter what you say, ANYONE is going to want to start baggin at least a FEW more. ANd you know what I'm talkin about. It's not all about killin the ducks but it sure doesn't hurt.[/quote]

If I was a bettin' man I'd say there were 3 guys, and 1 of those ducks was a Merganser...Thus the 19th duck..they dont count on your 6 duck bag limit...The GW WOULDNT let anyone leave outta there w/ more than abag limit...Or there would be tickets wrote...
I may go to Heaven, or I may go to hell....But one thing is for certain..It'll be after Duck season!!

Actually........there WERE 3 hunters on that stand.......and one of them killed a merganzer, thinking it didn't count towards the 'bag'.

But as it turned-out.........a meganzer IS a duck........it COUNTS towards your bag. Just so happens, the warden working the duck hunt that day didn't write the guy a ticket.
