... but there's a couple of problems, namely, I can't paint!!! I never realized how hard painting would be but carving is the "easy" part.

bama, have you given any thought to airbrushing your dekes or do you already?

Duckdeke - I might one day but I want to really learn with the brush first. I guess I look at it like learning to crawl before you walk. Plus that's another learning curve I'd have to hurdle.

Those are awesome! Really love the cans. Paint colors on the bills is amazing!

But why not make the eye closed on the sleeping dekes?

Those are very impressive. I like having the butterballs in big spreads in open water. I don't hunt open water or big spreads very often, but when I do I like different species. Butterballs are very visible, and can be seen from a long way off in any weather. Great paint job.
