I do agree with you goosebruce, but my aunt and uncle live in N. Illinois and I have a cousin Wisconsin and they have a had some pretty good rains. As with some of the other areas were the ducks nest. It will be interesting to see how the nesting conditions turn out. Lack of snow, but adequate rainfall along with a moderate spring could allow for extra vegetation and other valuable habitat to really do well this year. This is also important to good nesting habitat. And who know winter may get here one day.

This season alone should tell us we don't have a clue which 30 days the ducks are going to be in any given area.

I'd vote for a 3/120 season for that reason alone. Heck, I haven't killed 3 ducks in any one day all season anyway and it ends in less than 2 weeks.

Who ever said point system I wish it would come back! It wont, but boy those days of 10 sprigs were just unbelievable. Have some pictures from way back with five of us with 50 pintail drakes. Won't ever see stuff like that legal again. But boy it used to be fun. I think what we have now seems to work, however I expect a limit drop next year due to lack of H2O up north. I don't know that we need to hun past the end of Jan. too many biologists say it's bad. I am just thinkin' we need a real winter. This one suked! I trained dogs today in shorts and a t-shirt the week after duck season closed!!! Go figure!
