Only heard two birds (none real close) gobbling where we were this morning and they stopped with the rain.

We were just west of Senatobia. They are not real vocal right now. Did get them to gobble some just after a rain. And they are still bunched up...
Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, count to ten, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you wouldn't look good in prison stripes... and just smile at that dumbass and walk away.

Thanks for the geographical info guys. It still doesn't help me hear a gobble. In the last fewo days we have covered at least 40 miles on Desoto NF, and found a lot of sign, but nary a gobble. Somethings gotta give here sooner or later, I'm just gonna be patient and wait it out....

I heard 6 different turkeys Gobble in the Porterville area Sat. morning. Soon as they hit the ground nothin. Called one with 9 or 10" beard in within 20 steps but had no shot. He turned after seeing no hen and walked off about 75 yards and gobbled. My nephew then started hollerin my name out walkin down the road. Anybody want a nephew. Got one real cheap.
