There is a guy in Saucier that must have 50 roosters in his front yard. I just figured he needed a really LOUD alarm clock...

In my younger days I was a chicken fighter. I used to raise about 150 stags each year. A peepee fight is a very interesting thing to watch. You do not have to train them to fight, they do that naturally, but you do have to feed and condition them to get them ready for a fight.

I only faught the chickens with gaffs, I never used, nor wanted to use, knives. I was not a gambler either, I did it purely for the sport. You would truely be surprised if you knew some of the people that are in the sport!! All kinds of people are involved.

Judge JB, if you read this, have you got any Radio chickens or any Jumper Grays. These were the hot breedings when I was in the sport, and they all came out of Ripley MS and you probably know the man who raised them.

bet those little roosters are 'chewy'

I know a guy that raises them. He said that it was like the national sport in Thailand. A good fighting kock can be sold there for $10,000 or more.

I have wanted to go to a Chicken fight for years. They are kinda hard to find if you don't know someone already involved. Had the oppurtunity down in the Carribean once, but some guys told me that that the locals hate white people who didn't bet and they hate why people who won bets. So, I opted not to go. Saw some video one time of a horse fight in Turkey. They bring two stallions out and then parade a mare in front of them. Man, did those horses kick the piss out of each other. Reared up on their hind legs and went to work.

Grew up around the sport in south misssissippi. If you've ever been through Waynesboro and over through west Al, you see game cocks every where. Thos birds are true warriors. Awesome athletes.

Rented a barn one time when I was rodeoing that had been a peepee farm. The guy left all kinds of ledgers of breeeding lines and who he had sold them to. You wouldn't believe what people pay for good roosters. Saw several 15K and above. That's some expensive KFC.

I'm building a Ring this weekend in North Ms. All you boys that want to see Roosters and dogs fight come on over.....I'll decide which of you will be the roosters and which will be dogs...I promise to do everything I can to pair up the fighters as close as I can...

I saw a show on animal planet about Detroit Mich. & pitbull fighting These poor dogs had their faces all ripped to $#!+ & scared up bad - I could easily Kill a bunch of Mo Fo's if I saw that happeneing & not lose any sleep over it either

Now chickens would be interesting as long as the fried em up after each bout

Heck, chickens are raised to be killed one way or another anyway. Been to a few in Vivian, La. and won $500.00 bucks the first time I ever went.
Found a secret that worked for me------Bet on the Mexican trained chickens (don't know what it is about them, but they win alot.) and hope they don't have to go to the drag pit. That gets a little stupid and viscious.

Would go back, but not a huge fan.

I had a few of the radio birds when I first started, then Johnny J. in Ripley gave me about a dozen of the gray hens. He sure got me off to a good start!! I had some really good birds.
I finally got so deep into working for a living that I had to give the game up. I've thought a bunch of times about getting back in it, but I just don't have the interest I once had, or the space either.
Do you free range roosters for Johnny?

Sorry that I have stayed out of this one til now. But I have my reasons. As a small kid I can remember going to a kockfight in Louisiana at my Uncles Deer camp. The big reason I remember going was for the Crawfish Boil!! Afterwards I remember going to the ring they had laid out in the middle of the camp! They had bleachers set up, but, no one sat in them. I remember my father standing beside me the entire time and attempting to tell me what was going on. Later on I find out the gentleman standing beside me was the local Sheriff!
