Little Vern's Bark is worse than his bite... he's always given me excellent service and has gone out of his way to help me on numerous occasions (even after he found out I was a "damn Yankee" ).

Plus, he's always been one heck of a helper on our local DU committee....

How can anyone resist your charm and personality...even for a yankee!!!

Now if you can deal only with little vernon..........then you might come out better.............but big vernon will always stick his nose into it. I made a bad mistake and bought an atv from them back in '99.......later on I took it to them to get the oil and fluid changed in the bike....came back over a week later and I was told that the bike wasn't ready.......and it was the last weekend of the season. So I walk to the back and there's my bike, completely fixed, new oil, spark plug, everything. So I pulled around back and loaded it up. I went back up front and paid for it......showed my booty a little bit.......and big vernon comes walking out when I asked for my keys.....had the extra one with me to get it cranked.......and he throws my damn key in the garbage. So I've got nothing for the man, nor little v after he lied to me.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience ole GH 22... Misunderstandings can sometimes lead to bad "knee jerk" decisions

I don't think that Greenwood Nursery is any better. I have had some bad experiences with them also. Saying they are making a repair and then taking finding out that the repair has not been made. Just my .02.

I'm a personal friend of little Vernon and his sons, Vern puts up with a lot of my crap and I put up with a lot of his but he will go out of his way to help just about any body that walks through the door, and if Vern can't get the part that you need he will point you in the direction you need to know to go get it.

I called Ricks Inc last week with a problem....talked to Big V....we decided b4 I bring the 4 wheeler in, we'd try a few things first....he left me a spark plug hanging on the door(I didn't get off til 6)....told me to pay for it whenever.....he's also made me a key and did the same thing....hung it on the door cause I couldn't get by there during store hours...haven't dealt with Little V yet, but I hear he's nicer than his dad..lol....

BUT, I do have a small advantage when it comes to dealing with Big V...see, he's a pilot and it's always good to keep the air traffic controllers happy......I talk to him at the airport all the time....

It's all a matter of who you have a relationship with. I have never done any business with Rick's so I can't say anything good or bad about service or price. I do know that Big Vernon can be a cranky ol cuss at times. I have been doing business with Bert at Greenwood Nursery for at least 20 years and have a good relationship with them. They are good about getting me in and out as quickly as possible and been more than fair about service and price.
