I did the same thing that River Killer did, only I put an extra piece in the middle with both ends cut out. Screw them together, seal up(we used F 26) spray paint camo, cover with whatever natural vegetation is there, and hold on. My and another guy used ours last year, our first shots at ducks were at about 5 yards. We were so hidden, the ducks wouldn't even see us when we raised up to shoot. About 6 inches of water around, covered ourselves in bean stubble, man it don't get no better than that!

What is an RBW???

Here is what we started working on last year; the verdict is still out. Go to the co-op and buy a cattle feed trough. Basically it is about 10' long, black plastic that you can lay in. It sits on two aluminum tube sleds. You can drag it around with a 4 wheeler (even with gear, dogs and people in it. So it is SOMEWHAT mobil.

On dry ground it sits about 24" HIGH. In mud it sinks down some. You have to paint it with primer and find a cover or lid for it. My idea is to bend chicken wire and brush it up. Another is to make and attach a pvc frame with T's so you can sing the panel open.

Something to think about. It is still work in progress.

Meeka i have thought of that idea myself. I haven't made one yet, i have been struggling to come up with a back rest. Did you build a back rest, if so what did you use, or did you just lay in the trough as is? Andy

Hey duckmen have you seen the new rbw's. they hide you better than a pit blind in open fields

I have only hunted out of mine once. The other guy has used his more. We move ours around a lot so that creates some problems with covering it up - it gets bad muddy, then heavy.

I think he just had a board in it for a headrest. The flap he used was a pvc frame and hinges with trailer skirting attached, then cover taken on and off the pvc. the cover was held on by elastic strips rivited to the skirting. Like I said, it is still work in progress so any thoughts on the flap/cover design will be appreciated.

Gulfcoast, the RBW is a laydown blind manufactured by Razor, Buck, & Willie. the frame is made of muffler pipe with netting or plywood. They are low to the ground and keep you dry. Once you put it down you use rice straw or whatever is natural to the conditions.
