It is. I've seen a few makers do it. They pour "casting acrylic" over corn, then turn that down into a call. But it has it's drawbacks. The acrylic does not impregnate the corn. Well yes, I see what you mean. There's definitely corn that's been cut open. I'll bet rice would work better if you could get it to orient correctly during the pouring process?
